It's really not that hard to be ranked #4 on OpenSim when you plant 8 avatars in your region and just keep them there. I really think that is being very deceitful and skewing the OpenSim numbers to raise yourself in the rank. Regions that have been found to have avatars that are just put there 24/7 should have the region deleted and it should not be allowed. Not only is this grid owner stealing people's regions but now they are lying about who is actually occupying their region to raise themselves in the ranks. Awful!

Little hacker bastard. Look how big the story is. You can hack as much as you want. It doesn't change the story. You are only momentary and nothing you do as a hacker makes you bigger. You are nothing, you have nothing, you will not have been in the end. How pathetic and pitiful. You think what you do is important and right. My Pol. Sci. professor said "politics happen whenever two people get together". That makes avoiding politics difficult. However, politics is more generally associated with making decisions in a group. And because of their role in elections and government decision-making, polls are a major part of the political landscape. An election itself is a poll (the only important one say some). Before and after elections, polls are a critical tool for gauging the "will of the people" beyond what simple election results can show. Polls are, by their nature, political.

A poll on OSW says that the will of the people here is that this is not a place for politics. But if you don't want politics on OSW, you lose just by voting.

Not that it matters. Polling results in OWS are not enforceable and will not stop political posts. Want to do something effective? Block people.

Ulster Fry

"An Ulster fry is a traditional Northern Irish breakfast, often served all day, featuring fried bacon, sausages, eggs, black/white pudding, tomatoes, and mushrooms. There is some debate about the inclusion of baked beans. Traditionalists say no but modern Ulster Fry plates have them and I like them so I included them. There's an attribution notecard in the contents and this beautiful plate can be found in Doyle's Coffee House (it used to be a pub in pervious incarnations of the build but we have a fair few pubs:)

Working on a V8 (version 8) of the OpenSIM ONLINE WEATHER SYSTEM. On this version, just adding an EEP addon. So if it`s raining on ur region, it inserts automatically an cloudy/rainy EEP sky on your region - owner no longer need be online to change it. (working with 4 variations - Total clear sky, partial cloudy sky, cloudy/raining/snowing sky and foggy sky. Still running some tests and also checking if it will work at least on the big grids. Any ideas of feedback how the weather system could be, post here.

Pay attention because there will be a quiz.
1. Set Edit Terrain (Everyone) to Off
2. Set Object Creation to group only. (A private land management group for example)
3. Set Object Entry to Off
4. Set Scripts to Off
5. Set Safe mode (no damage)
6. Set No Push (this does not completely disable pushes, but it makes them less powerful)
7. Set your movelock to make yourself harder to push around. In Firestorm, this is CTRL+ALT+P.
8. The protection from any pushing is to "sit".
9. Set access to group only, or to yourself and a designated approved access list. (Kick out and ban griefers from the group)
10. Set No Fly (makes it harder for griefers to get around quickly)
11. Set Teleport routing to a specific spot (keeps griefers from being able to dodge by local teleporting)
12. Set Object Return to the shortest possible time
13. Turn off avatar visibility in About Land > Options (so griefers outside your parcel can't see you)
14. Do not respond to taunts or threats. REMAIN SILENT!
15. Mute (Block) each griefer
16. Turn off visibility of particles (CTRL_SHIFT_ALT_=)
17. Protect yourself from graphics crashers by limiting the avatar complexity your viewer can render, in Preferences > Graphics. Anything lower than "unlimited" will be fine.
18. Set your preferences to not render media or play sounds attached to other avatars.

The Quiz: What is wrong with the land settings shown in the picture?

The sim has been busy and I appreciate all the feedback I have received. However I guess I can't please everyone. I shall try and explain why I have done what I have done in a better way so that people can understand.

Yes the previous layout of the sim was great, yes it did use a lot of prims, yes I struggled to put things out and they all remained in my inventory not seeing the light of day. Yes I decided that the easiest way for everyone to have access to all my items was to put them in boxes (no the boxes don't have pictures because there are random items in there and I wouldn't have a clue as to what picture to put in there). However it appears that people were happy not having access to my inventory. They were happy to have the sim as it was previously (I am glad this is the minority because I have worked so hard to get this all done this way).

Not everyone will be happy at my decision, but I believe that the decision I made was the right one. So for everyone that was happy to have the previous sim I only apologise that I wouldn't have been able to get over 10K of items to you and you would have been stuck with the minimal. I apologise that I have decided to use as minimal prims as I could so that I can create more boxes rammed with items. I can only apologise if you now choose not to come.

But to everyone else that has come along and grabbed the hundreds of boxes of items in the store and loved shopping, I thank you ♥

As many people know... I am the cat's meow. I have 2 cats, dash & applejack, which I adopted from a shelter. They were found in the sewer drain. Someone tried to drown them? I don't know. But any way. They are very happy now living in my house. But aside from this and their many funny antics, I am announcing my return to the virtual worlds. Since the recovery was awesome, (and why wouldn't it be? I did it.), I now have most of my builds replaced. It is with great joy and fierce resolution that I have decided to tear down the wizardry shop again. ( I tore it down once and let Safine sell the magic huds for me.) But it came back, when I recovered the oars. This time I will sink the land under water and decimate the trees and shrubbery, plus I will obliterate the vines and flowers. This should leave nothing, but water. I do plan to leave the wizards house, since it is so full of magic, the wizards shack, and of course the school of magical education and generalized debauchery. I am deeply saddened to hear of the heartfelt tragedy osgrid is going through losing all their inventory... I know many of you will miss the early prim built furniture if only for it's historical sentiment. Many lands people owned but died after renting a server for 50 years will be disappeared from osgrid. Many people who died will be removed from the databases. Are you one of them? Boo! So anyways, as you may have surmised from my initial scribery on the wall of html everything is copacetic. Karma says what goes around comes around, a good reason to strap a 24 pack of charmin around your hiney. Cheers!

what do you think is the "standard" height for an avatar? I've noticed that in SL the basic avatars, the ones they give you when you first register, are about 1.75 meters tall or a little taller or a little shorter.

Even the Shapes of the various body and head creators provide shapes of about 1.90 maximum if I remember correctly.

Many users raise their avatars even beyond 2 meters in height reaching even up to 2.40 meters which is really a lot.

Tall avatars, always look slimmer and more defined, but they are often "bulky," not properly seated for example on a chair because they pierce the coffee table for example, or even in vehicles a foot comes out of the helicopter another example.

so what is the average and correct height for a vatar, regardless of what you may like personally, because then rightly everyone makes the shape as they prefer, but the standard heights the ones that should be corect, in your opinion what are they?

Utopia Sky Grid is changing; the management that controls our grid have determined that effective January 1, 2026 they will block Hypergrid travels. This will affect both inbound and outbound travelers.So if you have a region in Utopia Sky Grid, best ask for an OAR before January 2026.

What will that do to our sea battle? Are you by chance considering joining the sea battles? We will be continuing our battles while evaluating how this change effects our battles before deciding if we must change grids since that takes a lot of work after the move before we can start up battles again.

In the interim, if you are a Hypergrid traveler then it will be necessary for you to create an avatar on Utopia Skye grid to be able to join the battles we have.
