The best radio station in Second Life is now available across the entire metaverse and the pirate DJ's at Black Cat Radio have landed at Avedon Park!
Black Cat Radio is an online radio station that is totally listener-supported based on the classic pirate radio stations that popped up off the coasts of the UK and in the deserts of the US in the 60's and 70's. It features a hand curated music library of over 1600 tracks (no repeats!) and is never too soft or too loud. What really makes Black Cat Radio cool is that you can go to their website and make a request or dedicate a song and it is played almost instantly! You can plop the land URL onto your land in Open Sim like we do at Avedon Park (http://usa19.fastcast4u.com/blackcat) or you can listen online. You can listen on your PC, play it on your buds or listen in your car!
You can visit the in-world radio station at Avedon Park. We've set them up on their own little island right next to "Nervous Charlie's" fireworks and liquor Store. Visit the station, hang out on the beach or, if you are brave, check out their grotto. We try to make them clean up after themselves, but it only goes so far.

"Maeia jerked awake, choking and disoriented, and found herself on her hands and knees with hot, broken stone beneath her. Caustic, black smoke billowed in the air, burning her throat as she tried to breathe. The light from great fires raged in the distance, silhouetting shattered buildings and soaring structures and casting everything around her in an ethereal orange glow.

Feeling excruciating pain, she looked down at her arms to see red, bleeding skin and blackened blisters from severe burns. Lying on the ground nearby was the red sword she recognized from the sarcophagus. It had a faint red glow, as if it were red hot, especially around the handle grip.

What is happening to me?"

Snowy beaches wont freeze me as long as I keep this sexy wetsuit on! Come get one! The 3-d textures are amazing and they come in 5 Hud- driven colors. Nothing stops a surfer girl from getting in the water.

The early morning sun paints the sky with warm, golden hues as it rises on the horizon. The gentle caress of the wind fills the sail of the boat, propelling it effortlessly over the calm and glistening water. It's a perfect start to the day, with the promise of adventure and tranquility ahead.

As you gaze out over the water, you're treated to a mesmerizing sight. Majestic whales breach the surface, their massive bodies breaking through the shimmering waves, and they emit powerful spouts of water as they exhale. Emily decided to investigate the effects of focusing sunlight through her magnifying glass onto the tiny creatures that populated the leaves and flowers. She had a sense that this investigation might uncover something remarkable, and she was determined to document her findings.

With steady hands and a child's boundless curiosity, Emily positioned the magnifying glass between the blazing sun and a hapless ant that was going about its daily business. My Grid recorder project. This project is one where you wear an attachment and when you go to other grids, it gets the name and address of the grid and saves it to a list. Unfortunately it's not very useful as many of the grids I go to have scripts turned off, in which case it doesnt work at all. Or... the hud gets reset on the journey there and doesn't work. So far in the past 2 years I've got a total of 9 grids in the list, although I have been to many many more grids. Thank you for all the nice people I've met out there and the many good people I have met and made friends with. If you are interested in this project for whatever reason, you need to make a website where you can run the php script and you need to wear an attachment that can get the name of the grid and send it to the list in the table. Maybe somebody can think of a use for it.

THE JOYS OF DREAMGRID. DreamGrid is a software by Fred Beckheusen that makes it super easy to set up your own grid on windows. Having your own grid means that you can back up your lands at a whim, or on a schedule you set. You also have the power to back up your own inventory. Why is this important? When a grid is down for maintenance you are at the mercy of other people relying on their timeline to get the grid back up and running. Having your own grid also lets you control your own npc's, and gives you vast amounts of power that you don't have if someone else is in charge. If you have a problem with a person you can block their entire grid, or just that person if you don't like them. You can create and control tides, and automate birds flying in the air. Another super cool feature dreamgrid has, is that it lets you just start up the regions people are in, or going to. This means you can have 500 different lands, but if only 10 people are on your grid, then only up to 10 would be active. So basically as people teleport around your 500 lands, only the lands they teleport to instantly load for them to enjoy. This gives you a vast amount of options. DreamGrid even comes with hundreds of ready-made lands you can click and install and instantly enjoy. It also means that you can run hundreds of regions on a small not very powerful computer at your home, as only the active regions people teleport to will be running.
DreamGrid has so many many options and features, to many to mention... That you don't have access to or even dream about if you are a member of someone elses grid. It's easy to run. Now of course there will be some people who have difficulty starting a program or are just technically dumb who will complain about dreamgrid, but these people really shouldn't be allowed near a computer in the first place. DreamGrid is dead simple to operate and has features such as auto restart a crashed region, auto restart all regions at a certain time similiar to secondLife's rolling restarts, and of course the ability to backup all your hard work and your precious inventory at a moments notice. Put it on an external drive and you will never again lose all your data. So give DreamGrid a try! It really is a work of art that deserves praise and recognition.
