For the last 3 weeks, I have dealt with a intermittent issue on my grid that has about driven me nuts. I have tested, and eliminated possibilities …..without luck.

Yesterday two of the largest grid owners in open sim, Lone Wolf from Wolf Territories and Josh Boam from Aviworlds, took time from their busy schedules to help finally fix this issue. In addition , Rafael from Wolf Territories assisted. I cannot say thanks enough!

Although I work with Josh’s hosting business, this involved much more. Josh would not give up and recruited Lone Wolf.

In my opinion, maybe this is what opensim was designed to be: sharing of knowledge and helping each other.

Lone Wolf and Josh did not have to give up their time to help a tiny grid…..but they did!

Maybe we can all learn from these individuals!

FYI. The default setting of 2 threadsets can cause major headaches depending on your region….it is way too low in some cases. You all probably know that…but I learned.

By the way, the animesh cloak for males & females is available for grabs (manual inside) it can co-exist with any AO and flutters in the wind while walking, running and while riding a wearable horse.

The landing point - and at the same time the starting point of the game - is located inside the town hall. You can choose between English and German instructions. Also take the note card from the info box with you - it might help to understand the game easier - and also to find the searched persons faster.

I repaired MAHJONG by Xylor Baysklef. The amazing Xylor made this years ago, and it was broken and stopped working. I just went through thousands of lines of code and fixed all 13 broken scripts. Now it will work in dreamgrid or anywhere. :) I'm leaving it at cyberdatastorm.com:8002:SandBox This is a fun 1 person or multiplayer game and it is very advanced and sophisticated.

I would like to collect a list of those who make original items or systems or scripts for Opensim. Currently I have the following listed :

I found the cutest tiny birds by Jian. They were broken and unanimated, so of course, i fixed them! I can't believe they were lost and unworking for so long! How beautiful!

The Magic Mirror! Have you wanted a mirror you can click on and see yourself? Well here it is... You must change the mirror from "Buy" to "Sit" after you get it home. Then just click the mirror and sit on it. Press the [Esc] key on your keyboard to see yourself in the mirror. Make sure to turn off your AO. When you are done playing with the menu animations in the magic mirror, simply stand up. Et Voila. ( Yes I know this mirror is ugly as sin, but it's full perm, and you can play with the script, and retexture this mirror any way you like, maybe even put the scripts inside a decent looking mirror? i dunno. Anyway Enjoy )
With this script it is also possible to put in other animations, such as if you wanted to see yourself dancing in the mirror. etc. A long long time ago, i made this script for a lady in digiworldz. She put it inside a beautiful mirror and gave me a copy of that mirror, but I lost it in a grid crash, and it's been so long ago I forgot her name. I would love to have a copy of that mirror again, so if you want a better mirror ask around on digiworldz.

Merry Christmas everyone! :) I have made a terraformer that you click that has a menu system built in. It uses Keyframe motion. You can use it on your land to smooth out terrain, or make roads. It's sort of a Christmas present to everyone from me to you. Hope you enjoy it. (Now at cyberdatastorm.com:8002/Wizardry).

I like to drop a post every now and then on another virtual universe I'm involved in developing, with a working name of Starlite Galaxies. It's a user-content generated world like SL and Opensim, but not based on their code. A complete new game engine has been written from the ground up in proprietary codebase using C++, utilizing the Vulkan API instead of OpenGL. The universe will not be compatible with opensim code, but we are discussing a bridge option down the road to allow opensim users to visit. The game is currently approaching alpha testing for which all slots are filled.

The top shot is a helmet readily available on 3D model sites that we use to test our handling of PBR materials and shaders. This one is reflecting the environment we dropped it in and running at 4910 fps on full blast graphics using a GeForce 3060 card (I believe this is the same helmet visible in the recent SL tutorial on their version of PBR)

The bottom image is an asteroid field with 50,000 physical objects all orbiting a central mass independently of one another. We wanted to find a breaking point, but only got the fps down to 720 fps.

We also are testing on a variety of lower end machines to find baselines for the graphics and physics. But if you want to go full-bore gaming using VR, controllers, joysticks, flight-sim equipment, etc., then all of that capability is already there and working. Probably would only want to use VR with your feet on the ground. We found flying ships in VR was...unsettling.

Are emotions heated? Is anyone getting hurt? Is what YOU are doing making the situation better? What kind of person are you? The bible says that if you think everyone else is evil, that it is actually YOU who are evil. Learn to love everyone, and always always operate from a base of love. Are you a peace maker? or a trouble maker? Does your joy come from stirring up strife among people? Ask yourself if that is the case why your joy must come from darkness, instead of light? What is wrong with you? How can you change to become a better person?

Because of this always annoying I can't fill the stores on Needful Things permanently with new items. Even creating (reasonably) appealing images takes some time. For this reason I created the < GACHA ROOM > on Needful Things, where you can pull a random item out of the vending machine. A few machines only give you one item every 24 hours, but most of them you can click as many times as you want - until they finally give you the item you want :) .
The gachas work without (game) money or anything like that; just click on them and see what they give out....

Aufgrund dieses immer wieder lästigen kann ich die Läden auf Needful Things leider nicht permanent mit neuen Items befüllen. Schon das Erstellen (einigermaßen) ansprechender Bilder nimmt einige Zeit in Anspruch. Aus diesem Grund habe ich den < GACHA ROOM > auf Needful Things eingerichtet, wo ihr euch ein zufälliges Objekt aus dem Automaten ziehen könnt. Ein paar Maschinen geben nur ein Objekt alle 24 Stuunden aus, aber die meisten kann man beliebig oft hintereinander anklicken- bis sie endlich das ersehnte Item ausspucken :) .
Die Gachas funktionieren ohne (Spiel-)Geld oder dergleichen; einfach anklicken und abwarten, was sie ausgeben....

Dorena's World is one of the oldest grids ever. I've seen many come and go. When OSW opened its doors, we were already a few years behind us. Inworld has built up a community between the grids, which ultimately works well here even without the portal. Bots, no bots, afk avatars or not. I find it extremely embarrassing at what some people here are getting upset about and letting one crazy person drive them crazy. As far as the real number of visitors is concerned, the visitor boards inworld usually show completely different data than here. I can recommend Pagane to see a good psychiatrist in real life. I mean that honestly, without any mockery. What she says here..

Your IP Address is recorded every time you visit any sim in the robust log. This means you cannot go to ANY sim without your IP being recorded. All I have to do to see anybody's IP is go to my robust file, and search on part of their name. This pulls up their name, ip address, cmac, and key. So if you are paranoid or don't your information out there, then don't come to the metaverse. First of all the way ip addresses work, your IP address MUST be told to the server you are visiting so it knows WHERE to send visual data back to so that you can see it. In fact, this is how the entire internet works. So get a grip.

This wonderful combat system has been masterfully scripted by Ares Halostar. It let's you set up a game on your land in your woods, where avatars can fight vampires, spiders, werewolves, and more! Not only this, but healing fairies and magical spirits fly to your aid to heal you! The entire system is FREE and is a massive amount of work. New Release: Sol et Luna, a steampunk watch.

This time I made a simple wrist watch, it obviously shows the time but also the date in an unconventional way.

The wrist band can be either brown or black, it's controlled by a menu that appears on click and it comes for system avatars and ruth v2/4.

You can resize it to make it fit properly on your avatar and as always all the textures are included for your customisation needs.

Typhaine Artez, whom many of you may know, as a wonderful lady, and genius scripter, has provided us all with a redo of DJ PHIL's osvisitor web based system. It allows you to store your visitor list without storing sensitive data like ip addresses, but not having to rely on inworld objects - which often get reset. This project allows you to sort by visitors to a specific region, or a grid, or sort visitors by day, week or month. It relies on a free website for the free api call to process the data. What is orb? Orb is a webtop operating system. This means, it's like having a working windows desktop computer, but in a browser window. WHY DOES IT MATTER? Well, imagine your avatar has a tablet in their hand, or cell phone, or a laptop. Now imagine your avatar can zoom in on the screen AND RUN REAL WORLD APPS and save data. Example: Your avatar could have a tablet in their hand that is running firestorm they are using to control another avatar. o.O You get it? Not only that, but this webtop computer is super fast and super responsive (no lag or delay at all). All you do is go here: https://gitlab.com/hsleisink/orb and download the latest release of orb to your linux machine, then gunzip it, then tar -xf. Then take the folder structure to your webroot. THIS WILL GIVE EVERY USER ON YOUR GRID THE ABILITY TO HAVE INWORLD WORKING DEVICES. Many users can set up free accounts. What's more is that letters they type and so on will be saved in their instance protected by their user name and password. :) Pretty cool huhhh? A better alternative to Mixxx, winamp, & Butt. If you want to play music in dreamgrid, this is the way to go. I use XMPlay to play the mp3's. You just put a bunch of music in a folder, then in XMPlay select the folder, click the repeat button and you are done. XMPlay is very very very tiny and uses very few cpu resources, unlike mixxx and winamp and others. You may notice in the back of XMPlay im using an encoder, it's called AltaCast. AltaCast picks up the sound from XMPlay and sends it right on over to iceCast which is built into the dreamgrid package. AltaCast however, is another free download, again it is very tiny and uses very little cpu.
In my opinion, you want fast tiny programs, b/c it leaves more cpu for running sims, and frees up a lot more ram which is what avatars visiting your grid need. So with this simple combination it's a win win. It works perfect and is flawless, i never have to restart it or have any problems out of it, and i've been using it 24/7/365. I love it.

If you have not upgraded to DREAMGRID 5.28 - May I suggest you do? It has many bug fixes, and I have noticed that a LOT OF THINGS seem to work a lot better with 5.28 than with any other version previous. This is amazing! Be sure to thank super-genius Fred for his amazing and awesome work. :)

They use a simple script like this one and put it in any object.

This script then reports back to them everything you say in local chat - EVEN ON ANOTHER GRID. How can you find these hidden bugs? They could be inside that vase of roses, or even in your wedding band ! Well now you can. The Xray Spy Device will let you see scripted items all around you. Thank you all for making "Wizardry" a great sim. I get hundreds of visitors here! People come to get magical gadgets, or the famous magic huds. I've had so many people pick up copies of the witches hud, the fairy hud, the elven hud, the vampires magic ring hud. I've even had a few people pick up copies of the most powerful magic hud of all, The Wizard Hud. In addition gadgets like the x-ray spy device which let you see active scripts around you when you wear it as a hud, and gadgets like the person lag detector, which shows how much lag people around you are causing. Paw Prints, Magic Aura, Magic Sensor and many of the gadgets have become your personal artifacts, and you have become my friends! This photo is a new remodel of the magic shop in Wizardry, with everything neatly organized and strewn about haphazardly all just for you. P.s. check out the tiny golden chest at the front of the store, it's just brimming over with magical witch items! :)
