Your IP Address is recorded every time you visit any sim in the robust log. This means you cannot go to ANY sim without your IP being recorded. All I have to do to see anybody's IP is go to my robust file, and search on part of their name. This pulls up their name, ip address, cmac, and key. So if you are paranoid or don't your information out there, then don't come to the metaverse. First of all the way ip addresses work, your IP address MUST be told to the server you are visiting so it knows WHERE to send visual data back to so that you can see it. In fact, this is how the entire internet works. So get a grip.

Lillysparks: Cyberglo, you are so cool the way you ended this crash-course in IP basics. "Get a grip" LOL. You must have been around someone who was complaining...this seems oddly specific. Hehe 2 days ago
This wonderful combat system has been masterfully scripted by Ares Halostar. It let's you set up a game on your land in your woods, where avatars can fight vampires, spiders, werewolves, and more! Not only this, but healing fairies and magical spirits fly to your aid to heal you! The entire system is FREE and is a massive amount of work. If you always wanted a complete roleplay situation this is it from A to Z. It's Amazing! :) It's at hg.neverworldgrid.com:8002:Never Village It is well worth the trip! He has put some heart & soul into this system! Enjoy!

What is orb? Orb is a webtop operating system. This means, it's like having a working windows desktop computer, but in a browser window. WHY DOES IT MATTER? Well, imagine your avatar has a tablet in their hand, or cell phone, or a laptop. Now imagine your avatar can zoom in on the screen AND RUN REAL WORLD APPS and save data. Example: Your avatar could have a tablet in their hand that is running firestorm they are using to control another avatar. o.O You get it? Not only that, but this webtop computer is super fast and super responsive (no lag or delay at all). All you do is go here: https://gitlab.com/hsleisink/orb and download the latest release of orb to your linux machine, then gunzip it, then tar -xf. Then take the folder structure to your webroot. THIS WILL GIVE EVERY USER ON YOUR GRID THE ABILITY TO HAVE INWORLD WORKING DEVICES. Many users can set up free accounts. What's more is that letters they type and so on will be saved in their instance protected by their user name and password. :) Pretty cool huhhh? To see a working demo go here and click the demo button: https://desktop.leisink.net/

I repaired MAHJONG by Xylor Baysklef. The amazing Xylor made this years ago, and it was broken and stopped working. I just went through thousands of lines of code and fixed all 13 broken scripts. Now it will work in dreamgrid or anywhere. :) I'm leaving it at cyberdatastorm.com:8002:SandBox This is a fun 1 person or multiplayer game and it is very advanced and sophisticated.

The Magic Mirror! Have you wanted a mirror you can click on and see yourself? Well here it is... You must change the mirror from "Buy" to "Sit" after you get it home. Then just click the mirror and sit on it. Press the [Esc] key on your keyboard to see yourself in the mirror. Make sure to turn off your AO. When you are done playing with the menu animations in the magic mirror, simply stand up. Et Voila. ( Yes I know this mirror is ugly as sin, but it's full perm, and you can play with the script, and retexture this mirror any way you like, maybe even put the scripts inside a decent looking mirror? i dunno. Anyway Enjoy )
With this script it is also possible to put in other animations, such as if you wanted to see yourself dancing in the mirror. etc. A long long time ago, i made this script for a lady in digiworldz. She put it inside a beautiful mirror and gave me a copy of that mirror, but I lost it in a grid crash, and it's been so long ago I forgot her name. I would love to have a copy of that mirror again, so if you want a better mirror ask around on digiworldz.

This is the Castle display area at Lunaria Emporium where you can walk through them all. My first attempt at building in SecondLife 15 years ago was a castle and I never looked back. There three available for purchase in different styles and they all have multiple hidden chambers and passages to discover:

The Ceridwen castle, done in a fantasy/fairytale style in a silver and amethyst color palette with a special hidden room below

The Caerwyn Fortress complex, which is a massive, detailed fortress in the Norman / Celtic tradition with realistic 13th century textures. The fortress was inspired by the remains of Harlech Castle located in Harlech, Gwynedd, Wales

The Caerwyn Keep, designed with a smaller footprint in mind

A medieval covered stone bridge to match

There's also a partially finished Camelot Keep that I hope to get back to someday, but it is not currently available. All the castles are available on the Kitely Market here: https://www.kitely.com/market?cat=50600&store=13957705 and can be delivered directly to your inventory on your grid.

If you don't mind hypergridding, all venues are 20% off Kitely Market prices if you get them directly from my main store.

CyberScan Scanner. This device can listen for hidden 'microphones' placed on your sim to spy on you. It scans the channels you select with a frequency you input. If people are chatting in local chat and the scanner has a hit, it will let you know. :D Now available at Wizardry region. Open source as always so you can modify the code, god mode it, whatever you want to do. :) It is also a very powerful tool for scripters who are creating devices that use channel communication, as it allows you to listen in on what your LSL scripting is actually doing. :)

For the last 3 weeks, I have dealt with a intermittent issue on my grid that has about driven me nuts. I have tested, and eliminated possibilities …..without luck.

Yesterday two of the largest grid owners in open sim, Lone Wolf from Wolf Territories and Josh Boam from Aviworlds, took time from their busy schedules to help finally fix this issue. In addition , Rafael from Wolf Territories assisted. I cannot say thanks enough!

Although I work with Josh’s hosting business, this involved much more. Josh would not give up and recruited Lone Wolf.

In my opinion, maybe this is what opensim was designed to be: sharing of knowledge and helping each other.

Lone Wolf and Josh did not have to give up their time to help a tiny grid…..but they did!

Maybe we can all learn from these individuals!

Sharing knowledge is Caring

FYI. The default setting of 2 threadsets can cause major headaches depending on your region….it is way too low in some cases. You all probably know that…but I learned.

Of course nico is heading up a bunch of her friends to harass me as usual. So let me explain to you what happened step by step. First of all silvia is a liar. You can trust her or you can trust me. I have hard evidence of what she did in my logs.
On the wizardry sim where thousands of people have come and gotten things with no issue whatsoever, and where i am always glad to have visitors, silvia appeared. She was on one side of the sim, but she moved her camera view from the area she was standing (by the wizardry store where i make and give away free stuff), all the way over to my castle across the water. On the top floor of my castle is all my inworld servers. They are in a locked room. She browsed past (through) the wall, and then inside this room is a server cabinet that only the owner (llgetowner) can click on and open. Inside that server cabinet is my security orb server. She very carefully moved her camera into the center of that cabinet to catch the edge of the server in her viewer so she could click it and try to manipulate the menu. I put it in a locked cabinet inside a locked room, on the 4th floor of my castle for a reason. Everytime she clicked it, it reported to me. I tried to talk to her but got no response. There is no reason for someone to touch my hidden servers in a hidden cabinet in a locked room. I finally kicked her and she went to my regin elf beach. So I had to set an estate ban. While I was trying to set an estate ban, Wizardry went down. I got logged out. I checked it on the dreamgrid console and wizardry was showing crashed. It also showed a visitor in elf beach. So I got her information from the robust logs and added here to an estate wide ban to keep her off my grid forever. I will never let her back on my grid. If you are wise you will do the same as I have and ban her. All these people coming at me with these nasty comments have no idea what is going on, they were not there. For those of you who are wise you will ban and block her. For those of you who wish to believe liars, then I hope she visits your sim and does what she did to me.

When I posted about my newest edition of overwatch sentry with height and age block menu's, it got a lot of negative comments and not one person posted anything good about it. This made me realize it is not a good idea, and I heard you. As a result I have canned that project and deleted the prototype from wizardry and from my inventory. I have schizophrenia, and I have had to learn not to be ashamed and to ask for help is the only way I can get it. But that also means sometimes I do things which are not normal, so I rely on the feedback of you guys to let me know when I've done something a bit odd. Thank you for your feedback, I have heard you loud and clear. :) No more overwatch sentry.

OverWatch Sentry v 37. A bug was found in the code by "theprinceofamor". It's on line # 481, instead of an if statement it should say "else if". THE JOYS OF DREAMGRID. DreamGrid is a software by Fred Beckheusen that makes it super easy to set up your own grid on windows. Having your own grid means that you can back up your lands at a whim, or on a schedule you set. You also have the power to back up your own inventory. Why is this important? When a grid is down for maintenance you are at the mercy of other people relying on their timeline to get the grid back up and running. Having your own grid also lets you control your own npc's, and gives you vast amounts of power that you don't have if someone else is in charge. If you have a problem with a person you can block their entire grid, or just that person if you don't like them. You can create and control tides, and automate birds flying in the air. Another super cool feature dreamgrid has, is that it lets you just start up the regions people are in, or going to. This means you can have 500 different lands, but if only 10 people are on your grid, then only up to 10 would be active. So basically as people teleport around your 500 lands, only the lands they teleport to instantly load for them to enjoy. This gives you a vast amount of options. DreamGrid even comes with hundreds of ready-made lands you can click and install and instantly enjoy. It also means that you can run hundreds of regions on a small not very powerful computer at your home, as only the active regions people teleport to will be running.
DreamGrid has so many many options and features, to many to mention... That you don't have access to or even dream about if you are a member of someone elses grid. It's easy to run. Now of course there will be some people who have difficulty starting a program or are just technically dumb who will complain about dreamgrid, but these people really shouldn't be allowed near a computer in the first place. DreamGrid is dead simple to operate and has features such as auto restart a crashed region, auto restart all regions at a certain time similiar to secondLife's rolling restarts, and of course the ability to backup all your hard work and your precious inventory at a moments notice. Put it on an external drive and you will never again lose all your data. So give DreamGrid a try! It really is a work of art that deserves praise and recognition.

A great alternative to vivox is mumble. It's changed a lot since the mumble-whisper project for opensim back in 2010. I run a mumble server right here at my house, and anyone can connect to it and try it out. On windows just download the mumble client https://dl.mumble.info/latest/snapshot/client-windows-x64 or on apple mac download this client https://dl.mumble.info/latest/snapshot/client-macos-x64
Mumble also has clients in most linux package managers already ready to go. Mumble has super high voice quality and it's totally private. I've already used it at my grid with several people and the quality was amazing. Plus the fact the mumble server runs on a small raspberry pi at my home with zero problems. If you wish to connect to it, just use cyberdatastorm.com as the server address and you can try it out on port 64738. There are also mumble 'servers' for windows, mac os, and linux. So you can run it on something besides a raspberry pi, and have your completely secure and private own voice server. I understand a lot of people worry about vivox listening in to their private conversations. ok. Here's an alternative. What's great about it is you can play opensim with mumble in the background so it doesn't affect the game play at all, AND it's great voice quality.

Presenting The CyberScan. A small handheld channel scanner. To those who need it, it will be invaluable. This one is more sophisticated than many sold on secondLife Marketplace, due to the advanced way listeners are handled in the scripts. It is super low lag, generating none, which is a miracle for a channel scanner. You can use it when you are scripting to listen to messages on a single channel or multiple channels. You can use it as a part of your anti-spy arsenal to listen to the hidden messages floating around in your sim, and make sure someone is not spying on you. You can also use it to troubleshoot sim lag generated by chatty objects, even on negative channels. This is a rare item, as it is the first one I've seen on the open grids. Get it at wizardry, or just ask me.
Lone Wolf, owner of the Wolf Territories grid, blocked me after I pointed out some technical shortcomings in his grid, deleting my comment from his post and blocking me.

This is the honest policy of some grid managers? what a nice thing, well, his response was really vague, like "my teleports are fast and you don't know what you are talking about on Opensim NGC" or stuttering something like that, but I will leave you my two comments, open your eyes, if there is no technical confrontation there is no good, growing and sharing is also part of that, he seemed like a good person. .. but he is probably afraid and not sure of what he is saying so he deletes uncomfortable comments because he is not strong in his reasons.

Here are my two comments :

I write to you with respect and would like to be honest.

I don't see anything special in this Opensim NGC, it just has preset configurations that are very easy to change, there are other Opensimulator derived projects clearly superior in quality and certainty for creators (see Kitely but that's just an example) and the goals of OS-NGC have been largely achieved by others long before and someone has done even more recently.

Also, you charge $50 (at the exchange rate) for a region, you may have an advanced control panel, but if I were to spend all that money on a grid where teleports don't work and as a creator I have no certainty that my items won't be forced even if I sell them in gloebit (I sell them once and then that's it because they are forced) I would never buy land from you.

You offer huge regions with 1.2 million unusable prims at an excessive cost passing it off as the best technologically advanced grid.

In fact if I were to buy a region and then find myself struggling in teleports, with constant problems loading the scenery around me, or it is simply slow to load the map (because it is very slow for your grid to load the map! "loading in progress..." and you have to wait a long time to visit a place if then the teleport doesn't fail!), if I decide because of these problems (and others) to leave, and I want to save the OAR to take my work with me, but where can I then place it? what grid would offer me a similar and less expensive solution? or maybe even as expensive but fuinctions well? how much of what I build will I lose?

I understand you make people stay there by you because only there they can take advantage of 1.2 million useless prims in huge regions never fully used, slow, where when you walk you feel the heaviness of the scenery (you move slow).

I registered with you intrigued and convinced I would find a technically advanced world, and then never went in again.

Don't brag too much, your grid is average, it may be big but not very functional.

With respect and honesty.

his response was something like "my teleports are among the fastest in opensim and you don't know opensim ngc" and I then said...

Always with honesty, don't feel attacked by me.

Your teleports fail every 50% of the time and the map is super slow to load targets.

Opensim NGC is easily available and its sources are visible from the repositories, and it has nothing special.

I don't think you have faster teleports than other Opensimulator grids, technically you should know how teleports work, other technically savvy users know that more than 50% of the Teleport depends on the viewer having a dedicated time to 'process the scenario before it is shown to you, typically on Firestorm this is about 3 to 5 seconds if I remember correctly, but there are other viewers that are really fast in teleporting, to this you have to add the communication speed of the grid, and yours is not, for example, faster than any domestic DreamGrid, so believe me, you may not know technically what I am talking about, but I know very well, one of the problems with your grid happen after teleporting.

Unfortunately, your large scenario generates slow loading because the viewer has to process the large amounts of terrain.

Your teleports don't always work, those in your grid know this very well (let's exclude the biased people who are with you out of sympathy or brotherhood),

also there is always that talk related to unusable regions outside your grid if I decide to leave with an OAR and this thing is a bit of a strategy to keep the user in your grid, I think all the people you have now as paying users will soon make you realize that a decent control panel does not make a difference, much better the ability to enjoy a functional grid.

Again with respect for your work and with honesty, I also tell you that I understand you, you made billions of posts where you described your best being, and no one ever responded to you, not even those with technical expertise, but in life you have to know how to deal with people.

Anyway, your grid is not bad, it is just hard to live with and very overrated.

cordial greetings.

Choose kindness, always.

Different reasons bring all of us here to this online hobby that we all love. All of those reasons are valid.

And everyone has different skill sets. That's ok too.

It's disheartening to hear about people being unkind to folks in this hobby that are trying to help others with the technical side of it, finding things or even viewer help. Those helpers are volunteering their own time. Giving it freely with one expectation, that you treat them with respect and kindness. Anything else is not acceptable.

The same goes for completely trashing someone's region creation on here. Not everything will be to everyone's tastes. How about we celebrate and amplify the ones we love instead?

You never know what someone's challenges are behind the keyboard. Everyone struggles. Remember we are all human and vulnerable.

And always be kind. It will come back to you too:)

Wouldn't it be great if as soon as you logged in you got a notice if a sim was down, starting, stopping, crashed, unknown, or UP ? Now you can! This amazing device reports the status of your sims to you in an instant message. This way you can know in advance if there is a problem, and fix it, without letting it drag on for days! It's hard to check every one of your regions several times a day, or to even know if they have a weird problem going on, this makes it easy! :) FREE! Now at Wizardry! In the little magic shop! :)
What an awesome memorial day! TJ & I had smoked chicken, boston butt, and pork ribs, with potato salad, slaw, macaroni salad, texas toast, bbq baked beans, sweet tea and pecan pie. Tonight we played the board game clue which i picked up at walmart, along with some uno cards. Then I got busy in the kitchen and made a tiramisu cake, vanilla & chocolate petit fours, and white chocolate chip cookies. I sent TJ to the store for butter pecan icecream and we had a rare sweets supper while playing Clue (tm). Just all in all a fun memorial day!
What is a metaverse? I believe it is a virtual universe, where anything can happen! A place of magic and fun and joy. Just like the real universe the metaverse has many planets (grids) and thanks to the wonderful and amazing work of Sir Fred Beckheusen, the creator of dreamgrid, now anyone can have their own entire planet!
There are currently well over 7,000 planets (grids) in the metaverse! It is more populated than we realize. People from other countries with their own customs, languages, and beliefs have set up their own worlds, for others to explore.
I believe this trend will continue and people will spread out farther than ever before creating their own unique places and leaving an indelible mark of their existence upon the virtual cosmos! A complete decentralization of power and authority. No longer subject to the laws of the lindens and secondLife. No one place having authority over all the others. Everyone is free to explore thousands of worlds and make new friends.
With that said, you may also make a few enemies, but it doesn't matter, even if you get banned from an entire world, there are many thousands more out there... I have been exploring worlds of people I never knew existed, meeting new people, and making new friends.
The metaverse is a new frontier, a decentralized place created for us, and there is room enough in it for everyone, regardless of race, color, sex, sexual preferences, disabilities, and other separatist categories.
Thanks to Fred's brilliant work, setting up a grid in windows is as easy as clicking a button, and filling out a few questions. If you would like to set up your own dreamgrid, or grid on linux and need any help, I will help you. Just find me and send me an IM.

I'd love to add to this list if anyone can help me out, please. These will be listed in an information office I wish to set up with a poster leading to a link for each one. If you happen to be a creator and would either like or not like to be included, please let me know. Thank you.

I like to drop a post every now and then on another virtual universe I'm involved in developing, with a working name of Starlite Galaxies. It's a user-content generated world like SL and Opensim, but not based on their code. A complete new game engine has been written from the ground up in proprietary codebase using C++, utilizing the Vulkan API instead of OpenGL. The universe will not be compatible with opensim code, but we are discussing a bridge option down the road to allow opensim users to visit. The game is currently approaching alpha testing for which all slots are filled.

The top shot is a helmet readily available on 3D model sites that we use to test our handling of PBR materials and shaders. This one is reflecting the environment we dropped it in and running at 4910 fps on full blast graphics using a GeForce 3060 card (I believe this is the same helmet visible in the recent SL tutorial on their version of PBR)

The bottom image is an asteroid field with 50,000 physical objects all orbiting a central mass independently of one another. We wanted to find a breaking point, but only got the fps down to 720 fps.

We also are testing on a variety of lower end machines to find baselines for the graphics and physics. But if you want to go full-bore gaming using VR, controllers, joysticks, flight-sim equipment, etc., then all of that capability is already there and working. Probably would only want to use VR with your feet on the ground. We found flying ships in VR was...unsettling.
