Happy New Year Wyldwood Bayou Grid and all of open sim! Can you believe a whole year has gone by? We have seen a lot over the past year in all worlds, both good and not so great, and tonite is our chance to usher out the old and welcome a brand new year, 2022!!! Wyldwood Bayou Grid and Rockin' the Blues present our long awaited New Year's Eve Bash! On December 31st from 6:00PM to midnight, ring in the New Year with the Blues Tribe! You will be entertained by DJ Rosie, DJ Riker, DJ Ray and DJ Kith! Champagne will be served and is the custom of Rockin’ the Blues, laughter and friendship will be shared and fabulous music will abound! Dress is comfy casual to glittering formal. Hi everyone and Happy New Year!

In the spirit of new beginnings, today I did a small renovation at Encantada.
Things were getting crowded in the spring/summer area and well, I've started work on some "Fantasy" items. I didn't have a good spot for them so I've made a new area for "Enchanted" items.
I've moved just a few things over there already and will have a new release in the next couple of days.
I'll be keeping Halloween in the fall area and Easter in the spring area for now.

Blender 4 Beginners!
Scheduled for Wednesdays and Saturdays at 4pm.

Was blender to steep and gave you a headache but still you would like to create content ? Well come join us !

I don't usually support mesh bodies that have got nothing to do with Ruth2 or Roth2. But I've come across an improvement trick for Athena 6 with BoM that nobody seems to know.

The major problem is that the skin on Athena 6's limbs may look weird under certain viewer settings, much like a lighting bug. Some skin areas look brighter or darker than they should.

A minor problem is that alpha masks don't work on Athena 6 although they technically should with BoM.

The reason is because Athena 6 has a chaotic hodge-podge of alpha settings all over it. Parts are set to alpha masking, more parts are set to alpha blending (it's them which may look weird to you or to others), most have alpha off (this is why alpha masks don't work on Athena 6 out of the box).

The solution:

Step 1: Edit your Athena 6 body. All of it, not just any piece. Select it in your inventory while wearing it.

Step 2: Go to the Texture tab.

Step 3: Set the alpha mode to alpha masking.

Now the different shades of skin colour are gone, but your hands and feet may turn partially white. Don't panic, this is supposed to happen and will be fixed in the next steps.

Step 4: Set the mask cutoff to 128. If it is already 128, set it to 127 and back to 128.

The white should disappear, and your body should look normal again. Or better than what you saw previously.

Step 5: Take the body off and put it back on to save the new settings.

Also, you can now wear alpha masks like you can on the system body which might save you from the hassles that come with the alpha cuts on the HUD, and which you can save with outfits. The only limitation is that the alpha masks still don't work on fingernails and toenails.

Should alpha masks stop wearing, just edit the body and set the mask cutoff to 127 and back to 128.

The same method should work on Adonis 4 if you want to use alpha masks with BoM.

Oh, and before anyone tries this on Ruth2 v4 or Roth2 v2: You don't have to, at least not with the "BoM" bodies and Ruth2 v4 "Business". They've got alpha mode controls on the HUD. The "0.8.2.1" versions, on the other hand, are de-scripted and have no HUD, so they require this trick, too, if alpha masks don't work.

Needful Things - (Construction) News

All old houses have been replaced (now with new door scripts, easier to climb stairs and 2 additional usable floors each).
Various bugs have been fixed, most notably an update bug in the "Crack the Bank Safe" game that had made the win code unreadable.

Some stores now already contain teleporters, but their interior finishing will take some time.

NEW on Needful Things are:

- The "Solar System Quiz" in the Galaxy Store.
- The "Egyptian Empire" store, with all the accessories of my old Egyptian region, now retired. On the first floor there are clothes, avatars or NPCs, on the 1st floor texture venders and on the 2nd floor there are the boxes with all kinds of objects you can need to design a region in ancient Egyptian style (including started gadgets like special pyramid doors, trap doors, sandstorm, etc.).

In the next few days we will start the creation of an Asia store, with useful items for designing a region in Chinese or Japanese style. After that, the stores for winter, Easter and Halloween supplies will be restocked.

Needful Things - (Bau)Neuigkeiten

Alle alten Häuser wurden ersetzt (jetzt mit neuen Türskripte, leichter erklimmbare Treppen und je 2 zusätzlich nutzbare Etagen).
Diverse Fehler wurden beseitigt, vor allem ein Update-Bug beim "Crack the Bank Safe"-Spiel, der den Gewinn-Code unleserlich gemacht hatte.

Einige Shops enthalten jetzt bereits Teleporter, doch deren Innenausbau wird noch einige Zeit in Anspruch nehmen.

NEU auf Needful Things sind:

- Das "Solar-System-Quiz" im Galaxy Store
- Der "Egyptian Empire"- Shop, mit sämtlichem Zubehör meiner alten agyptischen Region, die sich jetzt im Ruhestand befindet. Im Erdgeschoss gibt es Kleidung, Avatare bzw. NPCs, im 1. Stock Textur-Vendoren und im 2. Stock befinden sich die Boxen mit allen möglichen Objekten, die man zur Gestaltung einer Region im alt-ägyptischen Stil brauchen kann (inklusiver angefangener Gadgets wie besondere Pyramidentüren, Falltüren, Sandsturm, etc.)

In den nächsten Tagen startet die Einrichtung eines Asia-Ladens, mit nützlichen Items zur Gestaltung einer Region im chinesischen oder japanischen Stil. Danach werden die Shops für Winter-, Oster- und Halloweenbedarf neu bestückt.

Ray is a long time Ballroom DJ (and a ton of other genres!) and will have a wonderful multi-genre set of tunes for us tonite, including some exciting swing, sexy latin and that ohh so romantic waltz! Don't have a date? NO PROBLEM! Ballroom is not only for couples! It's for everyone just wanting to meet up with friends, meet new friends and just have fun with some amazing music! Fae Hud & Necklace Fixes...
Whoopsy! I've fixed some bugs in the necklace that would not allow you to see the butterfly body of the fae chariot. Also When you sat on the fae chariot you would go half way invisible. Fixed that as well. Also the fae chariot wouldn't die when you closed the hud. Fixed as well. Get your updated copy at Free Magic.

ATTENTION: Needful Things is currently being revised!

Planned are:
- Reduction of (rezzed) meshes & scripts
- Extension of the store buildings by 2 floors
- Revision of the interiors

Most freebies (even the older ones, e.g. clothing for standard avatars, Selea Core Stuff, etc.) will remain. The location of the stores will also remain largely the same, only the buildings itselves will be redeveloped.

The rebuild is a longer-term project (120 houses to modify!), so Needful Things will remain open to visitors. It is expressly warned against construction lag and falling prims during this time ;)
