RULES FOR VISITING THE RENDEZVOUS

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR READING AND STAYING CURRENT ON THESE RULES AND GUIDELINES. REVIEW THEM WITH EVERY VISIT, AS THINGS MAY CHANGE.

Abiding by the rules is essential so please read carefully. Violation of these rules will result in a ban from the region and possibly from the grid. You may appeal a ban by sending an email to admin@alternatemetaverse.com but there is no guarantee that the ban will be lifted.

Rendezvous caters to those who want to be sexual. From our nude beaches to our fantasy rp sections, and including our upcoming seedy urban rp skyworld, you will find variety and sexy fun. And as with any sex oriented region, there must be rules. Please bare in mind that Sex friendly/encouraged does not constitute a free-for-all or anything-goes region. In fact, you may find some of these rules and guidelines to be too restrictive, but they are there for a reason.

Our rules and guidelines are based on real world sex oriented and BDSM community practices in the United States. They are neutral to any sex supremacy rp. And, just like rl sex oriented and BDSM community practices, the rule is to be MORE polite and respectful.

General

• Only adults - 18+
• ALL must sign TOS at landing
• ALL AVATARS MUST LOOK AND BEHAVE LIKE ADULTS. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS. Child avatars or avatars that look like children or teens / tweens and child-like petites will be banned from the region.
• CONSENT IS REQUIRED. And the following is part of that:
• NO MEANS NO. Even if they are your partner or date, NO MEANS NO. Even if you are in the middle of ANYTHING, NO MEANS NO.
In addition to this, always remember you have an X in the upper right hand corner of your screen. Use it when it is appropriate.
• NO GRIEFING OF ANY KIND. Please report any instances of griefing to the region admin, or grid admin. This includes social griefing.
• Please always show politeness and respect. Never assume.
• Respect the theme. We have a medieval area with both commoners and royals. We have a pirate area across the bay. We have an enchanted forest behind the pirate area. If others are there roleplaying, please either dress accordingly or be nude or very unobtrusive (out of sight). If you are attired for fantasy rp, do not pop over to the beach to rp an invasion. Respect the headspace of others.
• Ensure you are appropriately attired if you tp to another region in AMV. You need to assume that the rest of the grid is at least moderate. Do not pop over to our welcome area "Alternte Metaverse" region if you are nude or inappropriately covered. Do not carry your rp outside of The Rendezvous into other parts of the grid. .
• There is a zero tolerance for harassment. And there may be a fine line between flirting and harassment. Always err on the side of respect and being exceedingly polite. Report any instance of harassment to regional admin.
• If someone is ignoring you, take the hint. Just move on.
• Avoid lurking. While we encouraged getting your exhibitionist or voyeurism freak on, there is a time and place, even in a sex positive / encouraged atmosphere. Just be polite. And you always have your sneaky camera for peering (not taking pics) - Cameras are not permitted
• NO fees for sexual favors permitted, roleplaying is OK without actually charging
• NO advertisement of Off Grid or RL sexual favors or sexual solicitation of any kind beyond within OR Beyond the grounds of The Rendezvous.
• Keep noise and sounds reasonable. Excessive use of noise and sounds will be considered griefing. Keep your gestures at a low or no volume. No screaming gestures or screaming voice. We will keep voice active, however, your loud or overt sexual or play sounds should be kept within the area of your group or in DM. You may always create a group call as well.
• Feel free to wear tags. You can always wear a tag to let people know what you are up for, or if you are currently engaged in an activity.
• No age play or anything that may be misconstrued as age play. Avatars must be adult in appearance. “Smalls” behavior is prohibited. Avoid involving others non consensually in your “scene” or “play”. This falls under harassment.
• We are inclusive. All genders and sexual orientation are welcome. Anthropomorphs are welcome. Actual animal avies are not welcome, with the exception of fantasy creatures in the fantasy rp area.
• PHOTOS ARE NOT ALLOWED -NO PHOTOS except DESIGNATED photo booths

The Beaches
• While nudity is not required at the beach, it is STRONGLY encouraged. If you are going to be hanging on the beach, wear a skimpy bathing suit at the very most.
• Nudity does not equal sex. Just because avies are nude, they are not necessarily there to have sex. And if they are there to have sex, it doesn’t mean you are guaranteed they have it with you. NEVER assume, regardless of presenting gender.
• You will never be forced to have sex or be naked - These are and always will be personal choices.
• While you may inquire if someone is interested in “playing” with you, please do so in DM. If you are ignored, take the hint.
• Keep your spraying particles to yourself, your partner, and your group. ‘Nuf said.
• On the Rendezvous Beach, we have private skyboxes for those who wish to have more privacy. Please respect the red light indicating the boxes are occupied.
• There is a designated area on the Rendezvous beach for BDSM play. Please confine corporal play and other protocol based play to that area. We have other parts of the region for hardcore BDSM play at large. D/s is acceptable everywhere.

Cultural mores regarding rules and practices will be biased to the more common social practices in the United States. It is not our desire to be US-centric, and we are open to hearing from you. Please be respectful; our willingness to listen doesn’t mean we will make changes.

Fantasy Roleplay Area

• We encourage BDSM play in these areas, including corporal play, S/m, D/s, and protocol play.
• No forms of rp will take precedence. If you wish to play Gorean, you must be prepared that others may show up that are not playing Gorean. The same goes for Femme Dommes or any other group. If you have a group that wants dedicated time and access, reach out to region admin; we will see about getting you on the schedule for a dedicated time span.
• RP areas provide some exceptions for the terms boy/girl. We realize that in Gorean play, women are referred to as girls; in Femme Domme play, men are often referred to as boys. This is most often indicative of ownership and/or assignment, not age play. Using the term slave is also acceptable in the fantasy rp areas. However, your rp does not extend to others coming into the rp area. Keep your references within your rp.
• Tolerate other rp groups. If there is another group there before you, and they are in the middle of a story, respect that. Avoid going in and being disruptive because you might not like their rp. Repetitive disruption will be considered harassment.

Seedy Urban Roleplay (in development)

• Modern day high protocol and BDSM will be permitted and encouraged here. You may openly use terms of protocol here. Entry into the area assumes that you are ok with this. All requirements for consent remain.
• Gay leather protocol will be honored here.

The Main Rendezvous Beaches

Rendezvous Beaches are a place of adult frolic and fun. You may choose to be nude, partially nude, or wear a very skimpy bathing suit. No one is going to judge! But they might ask you to have some freaky fun!

There are cabanas, beach chairs, blankets, and some lovely showers. At the other end of the beach are some group hangouts, a bonfire, a hot tub, and a lovely palapa with a dance floor at the top. If you are intimidated by the ocean, take a float in the lagoon at the base of the towering waterfall. Oh, and as always, there is a Greedy table for those naked greedy games!

For some freakier fun, stop over at the Playful Plateau, where you can stop and pick up some fun toys that work with some of the equipment on the hill. The Dom/me throne is first come / first serve. Not only are there some stellar toys, there is a cage far above, on the plateau above the waterfall. You may put your errant submissives in there, so they may gaze into the lagoon, reflecting on their mistakes (while having a wonderful time). Always remember; consent and negotiation are key. And there is no prevailing protocol.

There are some people who want some private romance, while still getting their kinky fun on. For those with such discerning tastes, we have four private skyboxes, accessible by the beach cabanas. If the light is green, the skybox is open. If the light is red, the skybox is occupied. We have some interesting themes for your enjoyment.

THE LOST BIKINI - is a strictly nude general population beach. We want our beach dwellers & Sunbathers to feel at home with a totally nude populous.

LGBTQIA BEACHES - Some of The beaches at The Rendezvous are focused on LGBTQIA. The island is divided into two sections: The Shores of Manly Delights and Sappho Beach. The line of demarcation is the giant rainbow penis with the water spray. One part is more focused on celebrating gay men, while the other part of the beach and the cabana isles are designed with the lesbian lifestyle in mind.

Neither area is restricted by gender or orientation. Our intention is to give everyone a place where they may feel most comfortable in whatever lifestyle they choose. The equipment, furniture, and animations are designed with that lifestyle in mind. Respect the activities that are there.

Fantasy Roleplay

Rendezvous has two related areas designated for fantasy roleplay - the Medieval Village and the Pirate’s Haven.

Village Plaisir
_____________________________

Village Plaisir is a bustling and thriving community, but with a darker aspect. Seemingly a normal and cheerful commoner’s village, there is an undercurrent of perversion and potential oppression. The commoners go about their daily lives, but be alert. Anyone may be judged at any time, and could end up in the town square, subjected to any number of punishments or pleasures. The tavern is especially seedy, so exercise caution…or go there to have a raucous time! You never know what you will find in the village, so try everything!

But there are two pervading ideas in the village - they HATE pirates. Pirates will be hunted down and placed on the gallows or guillotine. Of course, what happens next may not be what one expects! The only way to find out is to be a pirate. And they fear magical creatures. If a magical creature or being appears there, they may have to be prepared to fight or be captured!

The ruling class resides on the hill, looking down upon those they consider peasants. Are they kind and benevolent? Are they oppressive and apt to punish at a whim? Only you will know, as you will define the roleplay. But one thing is certain - they are dirty dirty royals. Making the way around the far end of the village, there is a lovely cottage.This is the sheriff’s residence, and that privilege is hard earned every day, policing the peasants and keeping them out of the noble area. If you happen upon the cottage, and the sheriff is gone, go on and check out all the toys in the house. But beware - if the constable returns, you are likely to end up at whim or in the town square in the pillory or worse.

Across from the sheriff’s residence is the entrance to the noble houses. There is a minor castle, and there is always a party happening in the lower throne room. There is a small cottage for a servant, and one can see the huge looming presence of Castle de Sade. The sight of the castle is only slightly more terrifying than the rumors of what happens inside. They include all the unbearable pain and pleasure one can stand. You only know that not everyone who goes into the castle comes out again. And those that return are forever changed.

You may note the elegant garden in the center of the noble residences. Do not be fooled by its serenity; it is a torture garden. And it is said that once one has experienced the delights and torments found there, they either return repeatedly or waste away.

The guard tower separates the village from the noble residences. Woe to anyone who gets caught by the captain of the guard. The punishments and inquisitions are lavish. Unless you are a noble, keep your head down and your eyes to yourself. In fact, avoid that area at all costs. Just don’t go (yes, go); don’t go (absolutely go).

Pirate’s Pleasure

As lovely as the name may sound, make no mistake. Pirate’s Pleasure is a den of the scurviest, dirtiest lot you have ever encountered on the great seas of the Hypergrid. And sexy fun is the name of the day. There is the Hole in the Wall tavern at the end of the town. It’s not much to look at, and the food is even worse. But there is always something salacious happening.

Walking along the rickety dock (watch your step), you will find the bath house, where you can take a soak with your favorite friend or a new one. And heading down the steps, there is a large tent with a dancing pit to enjoy after your raiding of the village across the water.

At the other end of the village, you will see another building. The “governor” of the village is housed here. All incoming booty must go through that office, and you may expect some of the booty to actually be…well, booty!

There is a pirate camp just beyond the building. There is nothing decent about that place…so you DEFINITELY want to check it out!

In the center of town, there is an auction platform. When the pirates raid the village across the water, they auction off the captors after having some fun with them. Branding is not uncommon. And being auctioned off is not limited to the villagers. Lost a Greedy game? Might be auctioned to pay your debt. Got drunk and fell asleep? Might be auctioned. Lost a fight? Auctioned. Took a breath? Yup..you get the idea.

At the entrance to a great forest is the Tree of Joshua. Those who commit great crimes, anger the governor, or the most errant of the enslaved are placed on the tree. After they are softened up a bit, they are left there for the spirits of the forest. Enchanted Mirage is said to be inhabited by the darkest fey, beautiful and terrifying, purveyors of sensual experiences. You may be tempted to wander the forest. Many are lost and never return. It is said that there is a pinnacle to be reached, mystical and haunted. There are tales of humans being hunted in a great hunt, led by a dark fey ruler. Will you take the risk? Or lead the hunt?
