![]() | Essence 1 hour ago The reason WE disagreed was because I was making friends with YOUR friend @Cyberglo and you unloaded 2 whole days of toxic hate at me because of that so do me a favour and fix your fake-ass, lying, crappy attitude |
![]() | Speck 1 hour ago I don't take offense Essence, which is why even your death threats never worry me. I do object however when you attack and abuse members just because you feel like it. Back later. |
![]() | Essence 2 hours ago "the freedom OpenSim allows" unless it's something you take offense to, right, @Speck? |
![]() | CherylFurse 2 hours ago @M1k3y SL and opensim is a fossile out of Intel times. You would have to code completely new for Silicon/ARM as complete multithreading system with unreal engine or star engine. The viewer as well. So we play opensim like it is old atari game. |
![]() | Speck 2 hours ago I refuse to amend any typos before my third cup of tea, it's just beyond the pale. |
![]() | Speck 2 hours ago That said, as you've found there are some stunning places and ones worthy of may repeated visits. There are names you will know from SL that have brought their quirky and inventive minds here for the freedom OpenSim allows. - Enjoy the journey and welcome. Dabble away and amaze us :) |
![]() | Speck 3 hours ago @M1k3y - well a professional is just a dabbler who gets paid, so rejoice in your dabbling status, it's an illustrious club! Part of the "no people" thing is just the scale of OpenSim, when people can create their own worlds at low cost it's inevitable that overall it's sparsly populated. |
![]() | M1k3y 9 hours ago Don't get me wrong, i have been dabbling on sl for the better part of 2 decades, it's where this all started for me, originally. i can't say i'm a professional at anything i have ever done here, since i was mostly just a reclusive tinkerer. But i see beautiful sims and designs around but no people |
![]() | Nico Kalani 10 hours ago OS was put together with spit and guile, but now held together, so to speak, with s**t and bile. |
![]() | KrisTina✦ 11 hours ago @M1k3y Welcome |
![]() | Jared Seda 14 hours ago @Arielle this is true I remember the history of OS. |
![]() | Arielle 17 hours ago @M1k3y a lot of what Opensim does have is the result of what IBM and Intel developers coded in 10-15 years ago. Just hasn't progressed much since then since many left Opensim Core. |
![]() | CyberGlo CyberStar 20 hours ago Then I put it all back together after fixing the cold (broken) solder joints. It sounds AMAZING now. just like brand new, I'm so happy I did that. I may replace the electrolytics with the very expensive mylar caps, b/c they never go bad, where as electrolytics eventually leak their goo. |
![]() | CyberGlo CyberStar 20 hours ago So anyway the sound was dropping out b/c this thing is like 25 years old. So I pulled the head off it, and undid about 30 potentiometer nuts. Then I was able to clean the pots with contact cleaner, then i resoldered every connection on the pcb. Then I reseated the tubes, and checked for bad caps. |
![]() | CyberGlo CyberStar 20 hours ago well... my partner has a crate amplifier (it's a tube amp) It has a total of 7 tubes in it. I love the mellow smooth sounds of analog electronics, especially the incredible modulation of the electron beam (the glow in the tubes). It's like magic for sound, so much better than digital (off/on) . |
