What is friends-grid and the Friends region?

friends—grid is a sailing community (connected regions) that was built by a group of friends in 2023 and is owned by Safine Mahoe. You don’t have to sail, but if you do, you will love it!

Friends are the only thing that is important in Open Sim, nothing else really matters. As Woodrow Wilson said , “Friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the world together.”

The Friends region is the heart of friends-grid. On this region, you will find Friends Stables, multiple satyr farms, trails through the rainforest, a large Marina to assist with your boating needs and the most beautiful waterfalls you will find anywhere!

In addition to the Friends Region, you will also find teleports to : Xinashi región with Oh Hello store, Annihilation role play region, Aquamica region with some of the largest and most detailed underwater worlds, Clearwater II with the Darwin Eco Project and many other regions being developed.

A limited number of free rentals are available, however, we are looking for people who want to be involved in our community, not simply collect free houses on every grid.

Good morning everyone

In case you have not seen, we expanded a bit yesterday…..adding 10 regions and 172 sims to what we previously had. I have no desire to be the biggest grid, but I want to offer some great resources to those who live here. Friends grid now has 402 sims for you to explore and sail across! You can see the changes on world map.

We got hit with some totally unrelated issues hours before starting the expansion process. We will get it working for all!

Please communicate any issues to me….We are trying to get everything running smoothly!

I will explain why I added the new area. First, it cost almost nothing……it is just balancing resources. I triple checked with our tech people making sure that our system was plenty strong.

Secondly, we had a good place to sail, but my vision is to have a GREAT place to sail, and cater to all skill levels.

I may redo if there is no fun in current terrain layouts….realize it is all experimentation…..finding out what people enjoy.

As far as what will be changed:
Gradually Nerina Seychelles and Aegan will offer rentals.

There may be some future projects or commercial places put on some of the other regions in time….. but the focus will be sailing.

Ok everyone.....I found my bulldozer keys! Not sure who stole them....but I have them back...and I am gonna go crazy!!!!!! Pin , Lily and Serina are prob all guilty! Watch out......I got some bulldozing to do!
