Getting Rid Of Ghost - here a quick one in dream grid at top mysql click on it click on connect to console box, will pop up to get rid of ghost grid users stuck in mysql do this

type use robust

then type this in will remove ghost avi

update griduser set online = 'false';

then all done 🙂

but make sure no other grid users in are active one it will kick them also only kick hypergrid users

BE AWARE IF YOU USE SSD'S. An SSD can randomly go into a complete shut down and lock ALL DATA on the drive out. You won't be able to access that ssd ever again. In my case it was a SAMSUNG 870. Well, I had made several beautiful oars... but I had a drive crash... well actually, an ssd crash. very unexpected as it was a samsung 870. but when i say crash what happened was it totally locked up the ssd. I mean totally. Everything is completely not accessible. At least with a hard drive if you have a crash you can recover most of your files. But apparently not with this ssd. It's beyond crazy they don't make people aware that an ssd can lock up like this for no apparent reason. I'm afraid to say I've lost all my work. Not surprising I suppose. I really don't know what happened, everything was fine when I went to bed, and I woke up the next day and the ssd is electronically locked and cannot be accessed by any computer. I even tried a special device I ordered from amazon. Nope. I never knew this could happen. It's very disheartening to have technical troubles of this magnitude coupled with the negativity from the trolls... so... I just left the grids for months. I may come back one day and try to rebuild everything. But it's a monumental task. I spent so long creating all those beautiful places... Only to have them completely destroyed by a complete ssd lock. I should point out I was running samsung magician and there was NOTHING wrong with the ssd at all... Nothing was reported by magician except that the ssd was in GREAT SHAPE.

Unfortunately, the lovely Rogue Galaxy had problems with her network connection and we had to postpone her performance to another day, which we will announce later.

But Anachron saved the evening and it was a wonderful final act of our events for the 15th Grid anniversary.

It's with a heavy heart I announce the closure of the Hub Grid.

It was never one of those 'popular' Grids, and nor is the E Grid, but I like to think a few held it in a special sense :) We may not have been popular or well visited, or featured on the Safari or anything like that, but we enjoyed what we had. Sadly the funds are no longer there to finance the hosted Grid, so it will be shutting its doors, so to speak, immediately.

The E Grid will remain available for its rentals and may continue to offer new rentals.

If you are renting there, be sure you are wearing the Residents tag to visit your home.

Most of the E Grid will now be private, all that is not rentals.

While I am sad to announce the Hub going dark, I want to shout out to Masala Estates for their wonderful hosting and recommend them very very highly to anyone!

I am myself going on Hiatus here for an extended time. Life has changed for me and not in a negative way, but still changed. I will check from time to time, and want to thank those of you who visited our regions, for all your support. You truly made it worthwhile to stick around :)

Lunar and Chinese New Year is Wednesday January 29th this year. This year is the Year of the Snake. According to the South China Morning Post "The Snake represents wisdom, knowledge, intelligence, intuition and creativity. Snakes are also associated with good luck, prosperity, fertility and longevity. In some legends, snakes are considered divine messengers and guardians of sacred places. Snakes are also revered for their ability to shed their skin and renew themselves, symbolising transformation and rebirth." There are a few New Year gifts in the Lucky Dragon to be found. There's always a new calendar and this year there's a little plant as well as of course red envelopes and the other goodies. Almost everything in the restaurant, including the restaurant itself is free to copy/buy for 0. So if you'd like a Lucky Dragon for your own little town, assume it's a chain and enjoy. The doors are separates and because of the nature of the mesh building base the kitchen doors are a little trick so grab both sides. You click to sit and end up on a poseball on each side to get through. Happy Year of the Snake!

Another fun project. "The Legend of La Mariecomo" She was a legendary witch of south-east New Brunswick Canada, who lived from 1838 - 1910. She was like the Marie Laveaux of Canada. I learned of her while studying my Mi'kmaq and French ancestry. I think we have a few people from that area in OpenSim. If anyone knows of her story, I would love to hear from you.

There is a book that is out of print, unfortunately: La mariecomo: Roman (Collection Les Romanciers du jour ; R-112) (French Edition)

"Mariecomo is the story of an Acadian witch (born in 1838, died around 1910) who made the rain and the good weather during the second half of the 19th century in the Acadian villages of the southeast coast of New Brunswick. From Cap-Pelé to Richibouctou, it was the "country of Mariecomo" and like the other sorcerers, witches, spellcasters, fortune tellers, readers of the black books, the Little and Great Albert, the Richibouctou Tears, celebrants of black masses, white and black magic, etc., Mariecomo was part of the "sect" that the world called the "sorcerers of the Coast"."
