The next title to be released at Homelandz Public Library is a request from Ankh Senaton/Lionheart... a classic by HG Wells...The Time Machine! Find it upstairs on the bookshelf marked T for Time ;)
The Time Machine is an 1895 dystopian post-apocalyptic science fiction novella by H. G. Wells about a Victorian scientist known as the Time Traveller who travels to the year 802,701. The work is generally credited with the popularization of the concept of time travel by using a vehicle or device to travel purposely and selectively forward or backward through time. The term "time machine", coined by Wells, is now almost universally used to refer to such a vehicle or device.
Utilizing a frame story set in then-present Victorian England, Wells' text focuses on a recount of the otherwise anonymous Time Travelers journey into the far future. A work of future history and speculative evolution, The Time Machine is interpreted in modern times as a commentary on the increasing inequality and class divisions of Wells' era, which he projects as giving rise to two separate human species: the fair, childlike Eloi, and the savage, simian Morlocks, distant descendants of the contemporary upper and lower classes respectively. It is believed that Wells' depiction of the Eloi as a race living in plenitude and abandon was inspired by the utopic romance novel News from Nowhere (1890), though Wells' universe in the novel is notably more savage and brutal.

I highly recommend the modern movie remake of the black and white classic as well. The newer one features Gary Sinise as George, and John Malkovich as Lenny.

- Faire le parcours soit selon un ordre alphabétique des régions ? A priori, option non retenue puisque pour découvrir le code, ordre alphabétique pas forcément nécessaire, il faut obligatoirement être passé sur toutes les régions participant.

I searched high and low for the elemental guardians and could not find them so I guess they went the way of anything else captured in the machinations of Opensim. So I shopped and shopped and then I shopped again until I finally found just the right statues, took them home, tore them all apart, and created my own elemental guardians. Earth, Water, Air and Fire are ginormous angelic guardians of the elements and I created them for an Fantasy themed region that can be used for RP'rs if they like. These beautiful guardians are located in the "fantasy builds" department of the Masala Al Kohav mall. Stop by and get yours. Blessings and much Love, Lavia.

Next up to our opensim public library is the #1 selling book on the planet...the Holy Bible! We hope you have use for this and can gain strength and inspiration. Bearing that in mind, i am aware there are a number of different faiths and beliefs out there. I am respectful of others beliefs, so keep in mind i will be deleting and maybe blocking anyone that tries to take a positive thing for a large group of people, and turn it into a heated debate, flaming, trolling. This is a peaceful freebie FOR THOSE WHO WANT IT. :) nobody is under obligation to come claim this free item, and thus, nobody should complain. Thank you in advance for being polite, rational and kind :)
A *BIG* shout out to Cyberglo Cyberstar, who has been so generous and kind with his time, adding 1 fix to take us to version 1.1 and allow pages to move backwards. Then the next day taking us to version 2.0 and allowing us the potential to make books in minutes rather than days and hours. and yet a 3rd update already to take us to script version 2.3!
New Features from 2.0 to 2.3:
Can now view the cover by clicking left side from page 1, to close the book/show cover. Adds a professionalism and another level of realism to the book experience. (also close book from menu)
Which leads us to the bigger features...a menu is added! holding down the left mouse ANYWHERE on the book for 5-10 seconds will give a popup menu:
1)page number 2)bookmarks 3)close book
We already mentioned 3 and self explanatory.
1- page number: push this to jump to any of the 1119 pages of this book
2- bookmarks: that's right, save your place, or simply remember some significant pages. you can name each page and you can create a bookmark using the menu, or you can edit the notecard (PATIENCE! it DOES take some computers a bit of time to load 1,119 images!)
Now keep in mind, you want to follow the examples already laid out in the notecard that is included. you can simply edit or erase this once you have the jist of how to name and format the notecard. (dont be silly like me and try to save a page as "John 3:16"....it needs the : to tell it what page to go to...so rather than take me to page 987 or what have you, it took me to page 16.
Yes, I am already aware some adjustments need to be made to the numbering system/script. For now, use it for what it is, and be grateful for the minutes to hours it will save you getting you relatively close to the page you wish to jump to or bookmark. We will obviously do our best to make this more accurate. ENJOY!

Island of the Blue Dolphins is a 1960 children's novel by American author Scott O'Dell, which tells the story of a girl named Karana, who is stranded alone for years on an island off the California coast. It is based on the true story of Juana Maria, a Nicoleño Native American left alone for 18 years on San Nicolas Island during the nineteenth century.
Island of the Blue Dolphins won the Newbery Medal in 1961. It was adapted into a film of the same name in 1964.
^This is a beloved novel from my childhood, and it still tells such an incredible tale worth re-reading, well into adulthood. These books and novels are arranged alphabetically, and the waypoint takes you right to the correct shelf. You won't likely land right at that shelf. You will need to paste it into your map a 2nd time, after landing at the region. Common words like "the" are ignored. for example, i put The Holy Bible under B for Bible, making it the 2nd shelf on the back of the first floor. i for Island is at the end of that same row. in the menu, the item is named IslandBlueDo because menu popups limit to 12 characters. These should be full perm so you can rename to its full name later if you wish. any perms issues i will fix asap. been super slammed trying to get so much done both rl and online. Now that i am back from my vacation and recovering from getting sick, I am working on a new project. When I was on the Cruise ship, I loved the spa so much I wanted to incorporate it into vb. The spa will be at Meditation Gardens. It will have some Saunas, therapy pools, ice room as well as massage rooms and the wellness pods will be moved into the spa as well.
