I have debated bringing this masterpiece to the library...not that there is anything wrong with it...I think it is one of the greatest love stories of all time. I used to watch the movie at least once per year. But around 2017, my father started showing signs of dementia...vascular dementia, to be exact. Mini strokes that robbed him of more and more, until they took his life in 2020. Took me a few years to even grieve...I suppose because i had been bracing for the inevitable for about 3 years. So around 2023 or so, I finally allowed myself to rewatch the movie for this book (yes, i think it does it justice)...well, the tears finally came pouring out of me, like rain in a Sparks novel/movie. ;)

Anyways, this is an amazing novel, it will likely tug on your heart strings, if it has not already. For those few of you unfamiliar with the book nor the movie, I normally suggest watching movie versions first; I find they help me visualize the book better, I also find that a book can rarely disappoint and be less descriptive than a movie; but sometimes if we read the book 1st, we may be disappointed if the movie leaves something out, or portrays something different than we pictured or understood it. I won't give any spoilers; y'all can ordain what you wish based on what I said thus far. But, anyone who has not read this nor seen the movie...you are Truly missing out on something very special. Enjoy!

The next addition to the Homelandz Public Library is a wonderful romance/thriller from Nicholas Sparks, called Safe Haven. It was published in 2010, and adapted to film in 2013, starring Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough.

The novel is a tale of Erin, who flees an alcoholic abusive police detective husband. She moves far away, changes her name to Katie, and tries to start a new life. "Katie" quickly makes friends with her new neighbor, Jo, and, though cautious due to her past abuse from husband, Kevin, "Katie" quickly falls in love with widower, Alex, who owns the small local convenience shop. She gets on well with Alex' 2 children. But will her obsessive abusive detective alcoholic husband let her walk away that easily? It's here, LESHMOR HOUSE!!! One of the structures to be used in the "Deceptions" role play which is a fan fiction spin off from the Witcher after Season 3 on streaming. With the shake up in actors and their stray from the novels, watching season 4 is not in the books for me, but I wanted the story to continue, so I threw in my own changes and twists and plan to have a great RP for those interested in being involved in this fan fiction future for our canon characters and for new characters that the players come up with (within reason). If you just like and want the house, come and get it, it's there for the taking and will make a great western or medieval building. It is copy, modify, transfer but keep in mind it is partial mesh so modifying will not be easy, but it can be done. If you just want to re texture it, it's easy, peasy lemon squeezy. And now a change of pace from so many "classic" novels, as we branch into more genres and tastes...a personal favorite of mine is welcomed to the Homelandz Public Library...American Psycho, by Bret Easton Ellis!

American Psycho is a black comedy horror novel by American writer Bret Easton Ellis, published in 1991. The story is told in the first-person by Patrick Bateman, a wealthy, narcissistic, and vain Manhattan investment banker who lives a double life as a serial killer. Alison Kelly of The Observer notes that while "some countries [deem it] so potentially disturbing that it can only be sold shrink-wrapped", "critics rave about it" and "academics revel in its transgressive and postmodern qualities".

A film adaptation starring Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman was released in 2000 to generally favorable reviews. Producers David Johnson and Jesse Singer developed a musical adaptation for Broadway. The musical premiered at the Almeida Theatre, London in December 2013.

The book has garnered notoriety for its graphic violence and has led to it being censored in multiple countries.

Island of the Blue Dolphins is a 1960 children's novel by American author Scott O'Dell, which tells the story of a girl named Karana, who is stranded alone for years on an island off the California coast. It is based on the true story of Juana Maria, a Nicoleño Native American left alone for 18 years on San Nicolas Island during the nineteenth century.

Island of the Blue Dolphins won the Newbery Medal in 1961. It was adapted into a film of the same name in 1964.


^This is a beloved novel from my childhood, and it still tells such an incredible tale worth re-reading, well into adulthood. These books and novels are arranged alphabetically, and the waypoint takes you right to the correct shelf. You won't likely land right at that shelf. You will need to paste it into your map a 2nd time, after landing at the region. Common words like "the" are ignored. for example, i put The Holy Bible under B for Bible, making it the 2nd shelf on the back of the first floor. i for Island is at the end of that same row. in the menu, the item is named IslandBlueDo because menu popups limit to 12 characters. These should be full perm so you can rename to its full name later if you wish. any perms issues i will fix asap. been super slammed trying to get so much done both rl and online. Please enjoy this and remember reading is fundamental! ;)

I had this ad up sometime back, and I thought I'd run it again. This is Lavine Mansion which I was encouraged to make after I accidentally got a copybotted version of a friends creation. I wanted a mansion very much and one that was beautiful and had a Victorian flare to it, so I built one and there is nothing more gratifying that building your own. This mansion has a huge living room, dining room, kitchen, great hall, sun porch and patio as well as a total of 10 rooms and a full attic which could be modified to add more rooms. It also has a cute little balcony on the front and is encased in red brick with concrete fancy molding and a cinder block foundation as well as black cast railing and large concrete pillars. You truly have to see it and tour it to appreciate it. Stop by and select the Lavine Mansion on the Teleporter. It is free, fully linked, copyable, modifiable and transferrable. Gino’s Butterfly, a long-standing memorial sim in Kitely, recently received a beautiful upgrade to its Beverly Hills section. The sim honors the memory of Karima Hoisan’s dearest real-life friend, Gino, who was a celebrated fashion designer in 1950s and 60s Beverly Hills. Gino left behind an incredible catalog of original fashion sketches, works that continue to inspire to this day. These designs recently sparked the creativity of Kimm Starr, who brought them to life in a live fashion show, celebrating both Gino’s artistic legacy and the timeless elegance of his vision.
