Not good news... Yesterday's CT scan revealed a large number of new tumors in Anachron's stomach. The chemotherapy has been stopped, and the doctors are considering their next steps. They're quite surprised by the findings that he can still eat at all...
I just found out and am still in shock... What they only told Anachron today, even though it's been known for some time, is that the cancer has spread, including to his adrenal gland, so surgery isn't an option. The chemotherapy so far has prevented further spread, but not the tumor's growth. They're having another consultation and want to see if they can try a different drug, but they can't yet assess its side effects.
On a positive note, the doctors are quite surprised that Anachron's vital signs are so good and that he's feeling relatively well despite the diagnosis.

Zunächst möchte ich mich für die zahlreichen Genesungswünsche bedanken, die mich erreicht haben. Offenbar gibt es doch noch eine Gemeinschaft in der menschliche Werte nicht ganz verloren gegangen sind.
Leider gab es auch wieder die hasszerfressenen Reaktionen, die Dorena unterstellen, sie würde meinen Zustand instrumentalisieren, um ich selbst in den Vordergrund zu spielen. Diese Menschen möchte ich bitten, Dorena und mich zukünftig doch zu blockieren, da wir auf deren Aufmerksamkeit keinen Wert legen. Wir wünschen uns eine Gemeinschaft die von Freundlichkeit und gegenseitigem Respekt getragen ist. Anachron hat angerufen. Sein Krebs hat nicht gestreut, aber ist eben gewachsen. Montag beginnt die neue Chemo. Er hörte sich aber fröhlich und optimistisch an. Das freut mich sehr. :-)

Smaili Me knew from the beginning that Anachron and I live together as a couple in real life, and everything I post here is based on his statement. If she ever claims she didn't know, she's lying. Her last post clearly shows that she wants to harm not only me but also Anachron. OK, first of all you have way more important things to do than worry about these grandstanding idiots. She says she doesn't even know him. What is her effing point in all this? Ignore her. If anything, unblock them long enough to report and then block again for what it's worth. But reporting often does nothing. And if people want to go shooting their mouth off about something that's none of their freakin business, buy some damn coins and don't make someone do it for you. And that's also on Crazyposeidon. I'm sorry but if one of my friends came to me and asked me to post something like that, I'd tell them no. The whole thing is beyond stupid and incredibly insensitive.

Dorena has blocked Smaili quite a while ago. She did so to protect herself. Smaili knew. But Smaili also ABSOLUTELY wanted to shove this post into Dorena's face and make Dorena read it. She could only do that by circumventing Dorena's block. And so she got someone who didn't have any contact with Dorena so far, and who most likely wasn't blocked by Dorena, to post it for her.
I've blocked Smaili, too, right after replying to one of her comments. Smaili wanted to reply and probably try to gaslight me out of my alliance with Dorena. Again, she had to circumvent the block. This time, she stooped even lower. She HIJACKED Dorena's OSW account and sent me the German part of her reply as a DM in Dorena's name although I could see her full reply in that thread, block or not. Dorena knows, I've sent her a screenshot. So yes, I have proof.
This also means that all of Dorena's private conversations may or may not be in her enemies' hands.
Jamie, you may not know, but much of the German-speaking part of the OSW community is a constant war scene. I'm not talking about small kerfuffles of the kind that may happen between English-speaking grids or users. I'm talking about all-out, full-scale wars of annihilation in which nothing, no trick is too dirty, absolutely nothing is taboo (short of real-life violence, at least for now). Grid A, having rounded up a bunch of allies, vs Grid B, having rounded up its own bunch of allies. One grid admin against basically the whole rest of the community.
And the longest-running war of all, an increasing number of individual users against Dorena, Anachron, Dorenas World and often even the other residents of the grid. Prime objectives: Dorenas World must cease to exist entirely, once and for all. And Dorena and Anachron must be driven out of OpenSim as well as out of any social media where other German-speaking OpenSim users congregate, from OSW to Facebook, once and for all. Bonus objectives: Anachron's real-life death, Dorena's real-life death (by driving her into suicide).
Yeah, you may be rubbing your eyes in disbelief. But I have copies of various PMs that Dorena has received from haters. One of them, with an OSW account and a sim registered here, literally recommended her to kill herself in real life.
The war-waging had simmered down considerably a few months ago. That was when another anti-Dorena hate thread was on-going. Dorena had always accused me of not stepping in for her. So I did. And HOW I did. I didn't just fight dirty like Dorena's haters. Instead, I hyper-escalated the conflict. I dropped a verbal atom bomb into the thread. A hyper-retaliation strike at a scale that left even Dorena shocked. That had a certain participant announce criminal investigations against me (mind you, a participant who routinely breaks German penal laws left and right), but that successfully turned that person from a bully into a fear-biter.
But now that Dorena has revealed how much Anachron's situation has weakened her, she has made herself an easy target again. For the weaker she is, the easier completing the prime objectives (and even the bonus objectives) appears to be.
By the way: Stuff like this used to happen in ther German-speaking Second Life community as well. It's the very reason why Second Life doesn't have a German-speaking community worth mentioning anymore. Many left because they were sick and tired of all the bullying and in-fighting, and the bullies left when there was nobody to bully anymore.
I know someone who used to be in SL and involved in the wars within the German-speaking SL community. Eventually, they had no other choice but to make use of the same thermonuclear option as I did here on OSW because it literally was the only thing that still worked. Now they prefer to stay neutral in all conflicts because they know from personal experience that actively siding with the good people WILL require the thermonuclear option sooner or later. It's basically either neutrality or nuke sooner or later, no third option. And they don't want to do that anymore.

EU is under fascist attack just like the US. Dorena and Anachron stand against that. So do I. Fortunately, far fewer fascists from the states make themselves public on here - I can count maybe a dozen. And that is right about the same number of openly fascist EUs on here. And they are outraged that Dorena demonstrates her stand. I stand with her.

I'm sad that petty people don't have enough joy in this hobby we all love that they can't just put energy into creating and sharing fun here. And I'm sad that someone like Smaili is honestly so fucked in the head she can't just leave well enough alone.
Jupiter, I was an active member of Metropolis so I got a sense of some of the conflicts between German speaking OpenSim folks back then too as well as the stuff I've observed here. Again, I probably understood less as an English speaker but thank you for the explanation. What an awful thing. I mean we have this great international community where people can find pockets of folks who speak their language and to find that your language and cultural community is hostile must be really disheartening.
Not to mention the completely unacceptable and dangerous level of online bullying. It's something I take very seriously.I'd like to say people don't realize the harm they cause but sadly sometimes they do. As much as possible, we have to avoid people like Smaili and focus on the folks who truly make up the village here. Because lots of us do care and support one another.

I have no idea what to say, other than that I spent months going through medical procedures -one after the other, being cut open, losing strength, being unable to walk bc of being bedridden. So I know that it's rough, it's harsh, and I wish strength and comfort for Anachron, and for you as well.

My dear friend I am so sorry to hear this. I know how devoted to each other you are. It often seems that a cruel universe takes those closest to us sooner than it should. The only word of comfort that I can offer you is that you two found each other and share something so very special, perhaps more than most.
But this fight is not over.
