I'm looking for the "Stuff" boxes. They contain some of the first items imported to OS. These items are so old that they are once again new. Many of these high quality items are not in shops now. I'll be offering a curated selection of these items at the Black Market shop. Stop by now for items from the Stuff boxes with retro stuff.

I knew of 3 locations with a collection of the boxes. Two are now closed, and I forget the name of the other one. I'm looking for the names of places that have them and/or copies of any boxes you have,

Oh my goodness I almost forgot I could ask here!! It is probably a long shot because I found these a long time ago on Metropolis grid (sad they are gone :() by pure chance because I was lost. Anyway. "They" are alien plants and there were 4 or 5 or 6 different configurations of the same roundsih shape, and when you approached they would make this beautiful alien sound. I don't know how I managed to lose them, but I did. I think we all have lost a lot more than we were able to save over the years. Which is why we love this group!! Yep, I am a weirdo so if anyone out there has these alien plants or knows where I can find them...that would make my Christmas for the next 5 years! Thanks. Happy New Year!!!

I'd like help with either making stuff or finding stuff for a Horrible Halloween event. For example:

1. A DJ that streams bad music
• Any suggestions of what music that would be?

2. A location like a ball room of a run-down hotel.

3. Decor
• Moldy fast food.
• Cheap Beer (label textures that would work on existing cans?)
• Cans of Spray Cheese: extra credit bonus points if it actually can “spray” cheese
• Ripped drapery,
• Carpet stain textures
• Decorations that don’t go together at all.
• Trash bag balloons
• Toilet paper streamers
• Cardboard cutouts of tacky celebs like the cast of Jersey Shore or the Kardashians.
• A swimming pool swamp.
• Dance ball filled with ballet, belly dance, and drunken dance animations.
• Poorly dressed NPCs for the dance ball
• A “Pin the Tail on the Donkey” type event called something like “Pin A Kiss On The Ass” This one is complicated.
◦ An open collar-like blindfold that actually makes people unable to see and that will spin them.
◦ A 3-D ass that changes texture on touch to display a lipstick kiss.

4. Party Favors.
• Bling jewelry.
• Little plastic bags of toothpicks. Because, you can never have enough toothpicks.

Tig is searching for anything Goth related. There is a Hell underground, and in the sky, Heaven (a work in progress. It’s best to visit to see what the place is about. I went there looking for goth clothing, but its also a build with a Gothic theme). Tig invites suggestions and stuff for the build

Tig would also like someone to get statues from a place (not yet identified) that they not able to get to. Can any one help with getting them? We are awaiting Tig joining the group but I thought it would be nice to get some suggestions in advance.

I'm bringing this question to the group to see what suggestions you have. In the box, Star Ravenhurst asks, "What grids will help totally new people that join their grid? You have to teach them everything. Do any of these grids exist?"

My thoughts. People choose grids based on a number of criteria, such as cost of land ownership, the reputation of the grid owner, the dependability of the servers, and opportunities for shopping and socializing. However, people can travel to other grids for shopping and events, so the last two are perhaps less important.

Also, most of the people I've met have experience in SL. They need to learn what is different here. Which is what? How to run their own grid. Which grids allow you to attach your grid to theirs. How to get free land from other people. The number of people to expect at "big" events in OS. Some technical stuff -- I don't know -- scripting languages or something like that.

Then there are people who are total noobs. There are several grids that have sandboxes with instructional billboards set-up, like OSG. Anyone from almost any grid can visit regions like that. Some people have classes on different topics. But at times, people need one-on-one help.

So, a few requests, and a question.

1. Please name the grids that have the sandboxes with instructional material.
2. Please list classes that can help people learn stuff, especially the basics for noobs.
3. Are there instructional videos that teach basic skills?
4. Please say if you enjoy and are available to teach certain basic skills, one-on-one, to people new to the SL/OS family of virtual worlds.


The question is, is this group the best place to share this information for future use? Is there already an OSW group set-up for this? I think the best resource is a curated playlist of the best instructional YouTube videos. Anyone interested in doing that?

I've set up a Discord server named "What I've Found in OS." Our main aim is to list the places where we can find our preferred brands of stuff. I need help deciding what categories and channels to have. I know that some bodies are hard to find, so having a specific channel for each body brand could be helpful. Search for freckles. And real freckles, not just a few barely visible ones. I actually have what I'm looking for, but the skin also has a tattoo covering half my body, which I don't like. Also, when I tried to edit a skin with the texture and add more freckles, it failed because the skin suddenly had holes in it.

I need EvoX skins. Right now, mostly the usual skins, but fantasy skins and alien skins would be welcome as well. Anything that's good for an elf look would be welcome. I sometimes use a 'frozen elf' EvoX skin in SL, would love to do that as well in Open Sim =)

I'm OK with taking skins from other avatars, but I'd rather not take more of those if I can. A huge (or modest) EvoX fatpack would make my holidays awesome! =D

This group is huge! I have to confess I haven't had the time to read all the recent posts. So, this will be the format for the weekly post about who has helped recently. And as always, a picture completely unrelated to the topic! Remember when bearded babies were a thing?

Yikes! When did the chat box here replace posting? Doing so makes this group no better than looking for stuff via the front page box.

What posting does that chat can not.
1. It provides a way to post and reply in a threaded conversation. That way, we can more easily see what someone is looking for, the help that has been provided, and the help that is still needed.
2. We have a small core group of helpers. I'd like to keep them around, and add to the number. Posts make it easier to see who has helped and to create a post that acknowledges the helpers. In turn, the acknowledgement post helps the helpers by promoting their regions and/or interests.
3. A post can have a picture of what you want or otherwise bring attention to your post.

Someone said chatting is fast and more reliable. I'm not sure how. Once I know why chatting has come to be preferred, I can see what we can do to bring those features to posting.

OMG!! Is it against the law to get pregnant on opensim ffs geesh like what is wrong with opensim this exsist in RL just like having sex those too and everything else i mean we can play house and cook and rp but we cant rp kids babays that are robots almost they are not avi kids geesh it makes me run back to SL because i have my kids there and living the life i want to enjoy i like where i am in opensim yes things are free but i also see the other side where you pay for the things you like and the way you want to live your VIRTUAL LIFE WHO IS ANY0NE TO RESTRICT THAT!!
