An easier way to update dreamgrid...
1.) Copy the entire dreamgrid folder.
2.) Rename the copy to whatever version of dreamgrid is inside it like this as a folder name ---> DreamGrid v. 5.24
3.) Name the other original copy "DreamGrid Production"
4.) Download and unzip the latest dreamgrid into the folder named "DreamGrid Production"
This way if there is ever a problem You can easily delete the current DreamGrid - Production folder, and then rename the last running copy to DreamGrid - Production. This way you will always have a running production environment with several backups of different versions of good grid environments.
Why you ask? Because if a bug bubbles up through the code, you may wish you could just delete the latest beta and just go back to the latest one that was running fine. This technique can save you hours of pain. I suggest you try it.

HOW TO USE THE MAINFRAME.
Download the free program wc3270 for windows. Install it. Set up a connection to cyberdatastorm.com:3270. Your logon ID & PASSWORD will be USER100 & PIZZA OR USER101 & TACOS . You will have access too JCL, COBOL, ASSEMBLY, C++, REXX, and will be able to use the SYSDUMPs. You will be on sysplex1 with full access to 3380, 3390, and 3350 DASD. You will also have access to IBM 3420 TAPE Unit. You can explore what a mainframe operating system is like and how it is different from personal computers. Obviously you will not have access to TOP SECRET or RACF. I often say that anyone can learn PC stuff (personal computers) like Linux, Windows, or Apple OSX by reading just 1 thick 2000 page book. But for the mainframe you need to read about 200-300 of those thick 2000 page books. It is way more complicated. There are 5 mainframe operating systems: IBM Unix called AIX, IBM vm/cms, IBM os/400, Digital Equipment Corp VMS, and the Zos family. This mainframe you are logging into is in the Zos family. It does support full ISPF/TSO and CDC's (cataloged datasets). You will not have access to easytrieve, expediter, endeavour, and CICS.

Teleporting Issues?

I just became aware of a major flaw with firestorm and the solution that is on the Firestorm download page. I have been unable to TP unless I relog for last 3 days. After much research I realized this was a Firestorm SLURL issue.

Go to the firestorm download page and you will see the above information.

I have not changed my viewer settings or added any new viewers; but it appears some upgrade (probably windows) caused the SLURL function in Firestorm to no longer work properly.

As I follow up....I am teleporting perfectly now after installing this.

What is this ?
SLURL Proxy is an application that will handle SLURLs on your Windows system. Clicking a SLURL on the web,
will open SLURL proxy, which will forward the SLURL to the viewer you have chosen.

Why is that interesting ?
Various Second Life viewers you might, or may already have installed, modify the way SLURLs are handled on your system,
and often cause problems when you uninstall certain viewers.

SLURL Proxy provides a user friendly way to correct this.

Upon start up, SLURL Proxy will check to see if it's the default SLURL handler.
If it is not, it will inform you about that, and ask you if you'd like to use SLURL Proxy as default instead.

When you have set SLURL Proxy as default,(or even before that) you can simply drag one or more viewer shortcuts onto the application window,
and they should be listed with viewer name, and icon.

SLURL Proxy allows you to add several viewers, and one always needs to be the default viewer to use.
The default viewer is the one where the checkbox is checked.
If you would like to change the default viewer, simply click the viewer of your choice in the list.

That's it.

If you wish to set a viewer as default SLURL handler instead of SLURL proxy, then you simply need to click
Set other SLURL handler in the menu, and drag the shortcut of your favourite viewer onto the window.

Requires .NET 3.5 and only runs on Windows
