V for Vendetta (Graphic Novel) by Alan Moore & David LLoyd:

V for Vendetta is a British graphic novel written by Alan Moore and illustrated by David Lloyd (with additional art by Tony Weare). Initially published between 1982 and 1985 in black and white as an ongoing serial in the British anthology Warrior, its serialisation was completed in 1988–89 in a ten-issue colour limited series published by DC Comics in the United States. Subsequent collected editions were typically published under DC's specialised imprint, Vertigo, until that label was shut down in 2018. Since then it has been transferred to DC Black Label. The story depicts a dystopian and post-apocalyptic near-future history version of the United Kingdom in the 1990s, preceded by a nuclear war in the 1980s that devastated most of the rest of the world. The Nordic supremacist,neo-fascist,outwardly Christofascistic, and homophobic fictional Norsefire political party has exterminated its opponents in concentration camps, and it now rules the country as a police state.

The comics follow the story's title character and protagonist, V, an anarchist revolutionary dressed in a Guy Fawkes mask, as he begins an elaborate and theatrical revolutionist campaign to kill his former captors, bring down the fascist state, and convince the people to abandon fascism in favour of anarchy, while inspiring a young woman, Evey Hammond, to be his protégée.

On Saturday, August 9th, we will be having a celebration of life at the Bright Shore region. This region is owned and designed by our grid member Terri S (Eva Marie) who has done an amazing job of designing and decorating this region which is based on the movie Widow Clicquot . Madame Clicquot is credited with major breakthroughs, creating the first known vintage champagne in 1810, and inventing the riddling table process to clarify champagne in 1816. In 1818, she invented the first known blended rosé champagne by blending still red and white wines, a process still used by the majority of champagne producers. During the Napoleonic Wars, Madame Clicquot made strides in establishing her wine in royal courts throughout Europe, notably that of Imperial Russia. So Saturday we will be celebrating life and the things we can accomplish when we set our minds to it. Our DJ will be Maldrul Smith and the Hostess is Terri S (Eva Marie). Join us for some really great music and dancing and let's celebrate together. And have a glass of champagne with us. The celebration begins at 2pm grid time and the dress code is casual.

The next lovely addition to the Homelandz Public Library is a heart wrenching tale of love and friendship coming from the strangest places....just kidding! Here is what wikipedia has to say:
