Last night, the HG Safari group, founded by Thirza Ember and active in Opensim for more than ten years, visited the Metaverse Museum in large numbers.
It was a wonderful evening, during which Roberto Presicci, interim co-curator of the Metaverse Museum, and I answered questions and curiosities from those present, almost all of whom were English-speaking. We used a translator to communicate with them: of course, some of the dynamics and immediacy of verbal conversation was lost, but despite this, everything went very well.
We arrived at the museum's beautiful observation deck, then moved on to the In Between exhibition and then to the exhibition rooms, visiting some of the works in the collection.
Guests from outside Grid were particularly impressed by the vastness of the museum and the variety of works on display.
I would like to thank everyone who attended, namely the friends and artists of MdM, with special thanks to Thirza Ember and her group for their interest and constant attention to the Metaverse Museum, once again demonstrating their sensitivity and curiosity towards artistic and cultural research in the Metaverse

I have a project coming out for public beta test soon and I thought that now would probably be a good time to share 10 RULES of TECH SUPPORT!
MY PERSONAL TECH SUPPORT RULES ANYWAY.
(Please Read Before Speaking)
Rule one: the computer did exactly what you told it to do, not what you meant. It is not psychic. It is not creative. It is aggressively literal and has no emotional attachments to you..
Rule two: the documentation exists for a reason. Skipping it and asking for help is like ignoring the map, driving into a lake, and calling to complain about the water.
Rule three: “It doesn’t work” is not useful information. That is a feeling. Feelings are valid. They are not diagnostic.
Rule four: when I am explaining something, this is not a discussion. This is the part where you stop talking and listen. Questions are welcome after the explanation, not during the sentence you interrupted.
Rule five: something changed. It always does. The system did not wake up this morning and choose chaos. You, time, or physics touched it. Figure out which.
Rule six: support cannot fix what you refuse to describe. If you changed something “small” and didn’t mention it, congratulations—you have just doubled the troubleshooting time.
Rule seven: urgency does not make you right. Saying “this is critical” does not rewrite reality; it just raises everyone’s blood pressure.
Rule eight: software does not include common sense. That must be provided by the user. If a warning says “don’t do this” and you do it anyway, the outcome is not mysterious.
Rule nine: if you ignore instructions, you own the result. This is not punishment. This is cause and effect.
Rule ten: If the source code tells you not to do something, there is a valid reason. Disobey at your own peril.

it turns out Lotek is still around! She has given me permission to share the last update she did to the collars. All collars in the store have been updated. The AO on the right on the wall has been updated too. Soon more stuff will be added to the store that she has done with the udpates.
PS. 8.3 is still coming, this will be a sperate store. a few things that need fixing are being looked into. once that is done then i can finish the store.

Ein Vision Board ist kein Wunschzettel.
Es ist kein Erfolgsplan.

Work is progressing. When I can't connect and work on the LSL scripts, I handle the web development. Ultimately, everything communicates from Opensimulator to PHP/MySQL, which is then stored in the database. From the databases, the data is then transferred from PHP/MySQL to the website, which is currently under development. Today I'm working on player profiles. I have a confession to make: I feel like a complete imbecile! I followed instructions on some klutz of a website which gave me instructions on running a standalone grid... GREAT... everything is up and running smoothly. Now lets build some worlds and secure my....
EGAD! Suddenly, it dawned on me, I have been using this software for years and I did not completely READ THE F⭐⭐⭐ING MANUAL!
As a refugee from several worlds, my hosting journey began with a standalone setup, where I was blissfully unaware of the complexities involved in the handling of assets from hypergrid travelers. As a former Kitely merchant, I am looking into ways people can interact with my creations without taking them. Out of ignorance, I took the wrong security measures.
One of the common misconceptions that led to limitations, such as banning prim or mesh attachments (to avoid cheating) at Dismayland, is the belief that the server must download and store visitor assets to display them properly. This is not entirely true. By applying specific precautions, you can prevent visitor assets from being stored or affecting your environment.
So if you do not want "SL-Lara" on your grid, or you do not want the rot from someone's full suitcase, you can rest in the comfort of knowing their assets will not infect your world if you take the following precautions...
Restricting the ability for hypergrid visitors to rez objects or execute scripts is crucial. By doing so, you can effectively ensure that their assets are not saved in your database, significantly reducing the risks of unwanted modifications or overwrites. This approach provides a balanced way to maintain control over your creations while still offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy your content visually.
By understanding how asset management works in OpenSim and applying the correct security measures, you can create an environment that respects the creative efforts of your residents while sharing the beauty of your virtual worlds with others.
This approach is not without caveats: when you travel to other worlds, you WILL appear as a blob while your viewer shows you a cached appearance. It will not stop copycats, the most determined rippers can easily grab what is seen, but without your code and hidden assets, those useless rips end up in stuff boxes, wasting valuable server resources. There is nothing I enjoy more than making clever obstacles in today's virtual 'Wild Wild West'!
