The Amazing Device. Have you ever backed up oars for a long period of time, lost several of the original, but hey that's ok! You've got the more recent ones! But then you discover a horrible secret. When you move an item, the exact same item is still in the same spot, so you move that one, and Lo and behold, another one? I recently found that my hallmark sim known as DragonFyre had 3 copies of every object in the exact same spot. Like I had loaded an oar 3 times. Only the problem was, I hadn't done that. I had loaded one oar. The problem is that at some point long ago I must have loaded the oar on top of itself multiple times SOMEHOW....??? So now how to fix it? I've got 3 copies of every item on this sim in the exact same spot. And every oar I've saved for over 3 years has this exact same problem. So I created the amazing device. All you do is enable console commands in osslenable (for region god only). Then put this script in a box and let it run. Over time the box will move all around your sim finding those duplicated items and remove them leaving just 1 original in that exact spot. So your sim still looks the same but now there is only one copy of the item in that spot instead of 2 or more... Here's the script:

Let me tell you it was quite a surprise. Nice to see my work out in the world! :) But more than that, Chelsea has decorated this place with incredible attention to detail. It reminded me of my time in the Louisiana Bayou's. I mean you MUST go see this place to appreciate it. Words and pictures are simply not enough. The experience of it is sublime. We need more builders and decorators like this. Chelsea truly has a gift and it is absolutely amazing. Please do yourself a favor and go visit as soon as you can! :)

EOL for FoTo50's jOpenSim
After almost 15 years, I will no longer continue developing jOpenSim. In this sense, this means that jOpenSim has reached EOL status - at least as far as I am concerned.

The website and the grid jOpenSimWorld will stay up for the next months to get at least a communication possibility via forum or inworld.

This was not an easy decision for me, but it is certainly time for me to step back and perhaps make way for others with more energy.

What is this group about? I'm still figuring it out. This is what I've got so far. This should be...
1. A place to look at pix and videos, especially those part of a collection, and to get links to them.
2. A place to find a brief commentary or notification about recent posts from (and links to) news sites, blogs, and articles focused on OS.
3. A place that doesn't duplicate the purpose of OSW "News" forum, whatever that purpose is, in intent and practice.
4. A place to send people who want to know what OS is.
5. A place where you can get a fuller, deeper understanding and appreciation of what OS is.

Have a look at the posts I've done to get a sense about what I hope this group will be. Your thoughts? And, can you suggest a name for the group that best evokes the group purpose?
