Guilty. I let myself be rattled by the death threats and the steady stream of trash in my DMs. We’re human. When someone targets us with intimidation, the instinct to defend ourselves flares. This has been going on for a long time, and many of us reached our limit. Being met with threats every time you log in grinds you down in ways people untouched by it rarely understand.
It’s easy to say “ignore it.” But it never went away. He never stopped.
The only meaningful solution was for this person to be removed from the platform, and that finally happened because enough people stood up and refused to accept his behavior anymore. There is at least some resolution now, and that’s because people spoke up. Bullying doesn’t end in silence. It ends when people name it and stand together.
My apologies to everyone for the moments when I reacted, but if my voice added even a fraction of weight toward ending months of relentless harassment, then my only regret is that it took this long. It should have been addressed long ago.

It's easier for me to stand toe to toe with them - old and crusty don't forget ;)
I have a long history of getting between bullies and their targets - their threats amuse me and give them a mirror to see themselves in.
Of course this makes them whine and cry and accuse, it's all they have to play the game with.
The problem is that it's destructive to the platform and peace in general - but if we don't as you rightly say - they just carry on.
I find you emphatically "NOT GUILTY" :)

As some of you know, I spend quite a lot of time looking for positive stories about Opensim.
For a lot of people who are new to opensim, this website Opensimworld is one of the first 'windows' on the community that they see. Most of us are quite proud of this platform and of what we have achieved here. Yet whenever I open the front page there's some individual who chooses use this space to crap all over the whole community by dragging out a thread that is essentially a sordid, meaningless fight. It seems such a selfish and childish thing to do, like screaming in the public square.
When any one of us adds their 'words of wisdom' in a comment to one of these threads, you instantly put that thread at the top of the page again. Is it not possible for us to sit on our hands and refuse to contribute to this incredibly embarrassing side of Opensim?
You may say, Satyr should be moderating this page. We're all grown ups and most of us have some self respect. Can't we self moderate, by refusing to contribute to the garbage?

The box should be shut down. For help messages, there are the forum categories and also groups.
Self moderation is utopic in 2025, it probably worked 10 years ago, but we are now in an era where social medias reflect what happens in every medias : war, war ,war, money, fear, hate, war, hate.
Our world is sick.
