I love Dali, but my favorite surrealist artist is René Magritte. I wrote a couple of papers about him in college (art program) as his art always intrigued and inspired me. Funny story. One of my assignments was to replicate any artist of my choosing, so naturally, I chose one of his paintings, only I did it in graphite on illustration board, rather than oils. It turned out very good, thankfully. A few years ago, my daughter, granddaughter, and I were at the Dallas Museum of Art, and Magritte's painting was there. My daughter said, "Mom! Look! He copied your work?" Much to my embarrassment, people overheard her...and me...as I explained to her that it was I who had copied his work and that it was an art assignment. :)
