'MV Ross Revenge is a radio ship, the home of Radio Caroline, as well as having supported Radio Monique and various religious broadcasters. She was constructed in Bremerhaven in 1960, and initially served as a commercial trawler as part of the Ross Group fleet, notably taking part in the Cod Wars of the 1970s. Following her decommissioning, she was purchased by Radio Caroline and outfitted as a radio ship, complete with 300-foot (91 m) antenna mast and 50 kW transmitter. Her broadcasts began on 20 August 1983; her final pirate broadcast took place in November 1990. She ran aground on the Goodwin Sands in November 1991, bringing the era of offshore pirate radio in Europe to an end. The Radio Caroline pirate ship was probably one of the best-known “unofficial” radio stations in Britain. By sticking to off-coast locations, the boat ensured that it could remain outside of the legal reach of the British authorities. To my taste, kitty clothes can be too cute. Well, to my mind, this outfit is cute, but not too. Admittedly, there are the kitty sweaters (you get 2), the kitty necklace, the rings with all kinds of stuff, but darn it -- there's a kitty on it too. The pants? Line drawings of kitties. But then there are the boots. No kitties there! Just a pirate skull & crossbones...a cute skull & crossbones. Damn. But hey, that's only on one of the 8 pairs of boots in the fat-pack.
