Open Sim its self should only be for shopping, dancing, and sex -- preferably all at once. OSW should only be about those topics as well (within the rules of course). And on OSW we find listed MAGAGrid, a "region to promote Donald J. Trump and all things American". When I think of shopping, dancing, and sex, I do not think of Donald J. Trump. I think the place is anti-OS.

Parodying AI-Dorena—or depicting her in a straitjacket—for the third or fourth time isn’t funny anymore; at this point, it’s bullying. Dorena may have a knack for pushing others to the brink of rage, but repeatedly deepfaking her AI clones is still not okay.
Plus, it’s the weekend: most OSW users are looking forward to events and other interesting news—but instead, posts on these topics are completely getting lost among all the fake images :(

Almost like it echoes the way that relatively small groups of people exercise control over the whole population when they shout loud enough.
Personally I've found the posts mostly quite funny, you see such things everywhere now and if something makes you laugh why would you want to tell everyone they can't laugh too?

Norms are important, but must be re-examined from time to time. For example there is the expectation that you not put your elbows on the table. An etiquette expert says its about hygiene. Because who knows where your elbows have been, right? I suggest that instead of saying "Do not put your elbows on the table," it makes more sense, hygienically, to say "Do not put your penis on the table." I think that's one rule we can all agree on.
So, I'm making this a poll about "should OSW be used as a platform for discouraging people from putting their penis on the table", and I'm voting, good god, yes!

It isn't politics only when it gets uncomfortable for old, right-wing conservative, Freeze-Peach-thumping, square suburbanites. When someone basically declares everything to the left of Bill Clinton extremist and terrorist, that's fucking politics, too.

There are no formal rules in the site's TOS, or elsewhere, against using OSW as a platform for political posts. What we are dealing with then is a question of social norms -- the set of unwritten expectations of how everyone is to behave. You'd better behave, or we might frown at you. Or even scowl. Or post a poll!
However, there are formal rules against quite a lot of other activity that goes on here. You might be familiar with some of those rule-breaking activities yourself. The expectation, at least by the site owner, is that these rules be followed. In practice, they often are not. In situations like this, people tend to forget their manners, so to speak, and do all sorts of unpopular things. like posting artistic images, and creative expressions that comment on world affairs. These are said to disrupt the escapist aims of people active in Open Sim.
But guess what. Open Sim World is not Open Sim. Some people, perhaps the wisest of us all, ignore OSW entirely. The fact is that you can dictate the behavior and set the norms on your own grid, but as soon as you poke your head out of your in-world escapist fantasy life, you encounter here in OSW the real world! Yikes!
I can decide to not go visit the Trumptopia grid. I'm certainly not going to visit the Charlie Kirk Memorial or the MAGAGrid. I'm in OS to escape all that. But those folks are going to show up here on OSW with posts about their activities and such. So think of it this way. When someone posts an image or some words expressing something you deem political, think of it as their way to promote their grid and the kind of norms you will find there. We can do that here, right?

Blaming others for "causing a stir" and causing "negativity" is a way to avoid taking responsibility for your own feelings and how you act on them. There is a certain level of emotional maturity needed for self-regulation of one's thoughts, feelings and actions. In other words, it takes a disturbed person for there to be a disturbance. Instead of being disturbed, people might say, "oh that's just so-and-so being themselves," and chuckle to themselves and move on. That's what being nice is. It's mainly being nice to yourself, really.
