NewLifeItaly is moving to HEXIVIA VOICE, our own voice system designed and developed in-house by HEXIVIA for OpenSimulator.
Built on the open WebRTC and Opus standards, it integrates directly with the native voice features of WebRTC-compatible Firestorm OpenSim versions, without requiring modified viewers or additional software.
HEXIVIA VOICE provides 48 kHz audio, a dedicated stereo mix for each listener, and spatial audio: voices change direction and volume according to the avatars’ positions and distance. It also includes speaking indicators, individual mute and volume controls, and separate conversations across parcels.
The backend is written in Go, with a C# connector for OpenSimulator. The voice infrastructure runs on our own servers, independently of Vivox.
With respect for the work of every developer in the community, I would also like to clarify that HEXIVIA VOICE follows its own independent design and development path. Samsara, The Beauty of Taking the Long Way
Sometimes the most beautiful places are the ones that visitors never get to see.
Samsara was never created to be explored in a hurry. Every winding path, every hidden corner, every quiet garden and peaceful resting place has its own story to tell. Some of the most beautiful spots are not marked on a map, nor will you discover them by simply teleporting from one destination to another.
They are waiting for those who take the time to wander.
I have always hoped that visitors would experience Samsara on foot, following its pathways, crossing its bridges, discovering little places they never knew existed. There is something special about turning a corner and finding an unexpected view, a peaceful sanctuary, or a small detail that was placed there with love and care.
During the time Samsara was under different management, certain areas became inaccessible because of strict access restrictions and a number of technical errors. Unfortunately, this meant that visitors were sometimes unable to explore parts of the region that were always meant to be enjoyed.
I am happy to say that these issues have now been resolved. Samsara is once again open for exploration, without those unnecessary restrictions standing in your way.
And so, I have one little request.
When you visit Samsara, please resist the temptation to use teleporters all the time. Take a walk instead. Follow a path simply because you are curious where it might lead. Stop for a moment, look around, listen to the surroundings and allow yourself to get a little lost.
You might discover something that has been there for years, patiently waiting to be noticed.
Samsara is more than a collection of beautiful buildings, gardens and landscapes. It is a place of memories, creativity, tranquility and countless hours of dedication. Every part of it carries something meaningful, including the wonderful creations left behind by those who are no longer with us.
Now that Samsara has returned home, I would love nothing more than to see people truly enjoying everything it has to offer.
There is no need to rush. There is no finish line.

I’ve put together a little tool that lets you back up your inventory from OSgrid and save it on your computer.
I’m not sure whether something like this already exists. Backups can take a very long time if you have a lot of items, and they’re limited to 50 GB. So it’s better to back up individual folders.
Please read the information on the website carefully. If you think I should improve anything, let me know.

SAMSARA BOAT TOURS ARE BACK!
I am very happy to announce that the boat tours at Samsara are fully operational again!
After restoring Samsara on Virtual Worlds Zone, I discovered that I had lost the original HUD used to create and record the waypoints for the boat tours. Without it, making new routes or correcting existing ones was practically impossible.
Rather than giving up, I decided to rebuild the system with the assistance of ChatGPT.
A completely new waypoint HUD was created, allowing me to record routes, set waypoints at every turn, adjust the cruising height and automatically generate the notecards needed by the boat controller.
The original boat controller, created by Clifford Hanger, was also modified and improved. We managed to resolve the problems with the automatic return system, allowing the boats to return instantly to their starting positions after completing their tours.
And the results are fantastic!
Both boat tours are now running beautifully, and the boats move even more smoothly than they did before. The turns are gentle, the routes are accurate, and everything works exactly as intended.
Visitors can once again enjoy a peaceful journey through the beautiful surroundings of Samsara, passing through its tranquil waterways, bamboo forests and Japanese inspired landscapes.
I am especially happy that another part of Samsara's original charm has been brought back to life.
My thanks to Clifford Hanger for creating the original boat controller, which provided the foundation for these improvements.
And yes, I am rather proud that I managed to get it all working again with a little determination, plenty of testing and some excellent assistance from ChatGPT!

There has been a lot of speculation going around about what Littlefield plans to do based on the current OSGrid situation. Well, the cat is out of the bag - We are back! The grid is up and running, we have all the public regions moved over and we are finishing up moving all the residents rented regions this week. Account creation is active so anyone that is interested in joining, please feel free! We will be renting land just as we always have, but we have about 250 public regions for fun, free shopping, as well as dances, live music etc.. Please bear with us, we are 90% where we want to be and we are moving very quickly. We have a new portal, all new very powerful servers in a secure datacenter, and we should have everything at 100% by the end of next week. A word of note - this is no reflection on OSGrid or their management staff. All of them do a thankless job, and it's sad to see that someone would attack them like this. We simply felt that after the original move to OSGrid, and then the wipe of OSG recently, we couldn't put our community through that again, and it was time to start up again. We were around 14 years, and we hope to be around another 14!
