I really hate to have to do this but, I want to make it clear that my region is NOT a shopping region. Most of what is on it are builds that I have made myself though there are items that I have gotten from around Open Sim in the freebie stores. That said, let's be perfectly clear - there are malls for you to go shopping for freebies if you want, my "Home" is not a freebie shopping mall, it is a residence you are free to visit and enjoy, but after today's experience I have made everything I can "no copy". When someone visits my region and I am there and greet them and talk to them and they do not respond at all even though I send them the same greeting in their native language that is just TOTALLY RUDE. Then walk around just grabbing all the "copiable" items you can find, well I become a whole lot less accommodating and make everything no copy and it will remain so. I'm usually a very friendly person, and I love to meet new people and chat and visit and will continued to be so, however if you wish anything from my region, from now on, show some common courtesy and ASK. Thank you.

Besides the "copy all and everything" even at a private sim (what I also dislike), I here miss it that it can often be if one hops onto a sim, and RL catches one suddenly, and the one isnt able to react to something. Happened to me also once in a while, that I totay forgot my avatar is still running. I think this is also worth to think about. So it can be the puppet player isnt just rude. I missed this here. RL can all of us suddenly eat us up. Just a thought... In this cases at my sim I react calmly. I can never know what happened to one. Yes if I see one running around AND ignoring... But if one just stands there..eventually even shows afk, Then the above should be worth a thought.

Words of wisdom for sure. This is why I now have everything set to no copy, though I leave the region open for people to visit and enjoy what I have built and a bit of nostalgia from a time that seems long gone...my childhood. It was never set up as a shopping or freebie region so I guess that means make it all no copy. And if they want a cookie, they can do like my mother taught me and "ask politely.".

If they really want something from your sim, there are many whom you won't be able to keep from getting it. Especially if they know they can't get it from regular freebie stores.
So they can't take something. No biggie, they'll come back with a copybot viewer. And if there are more than one or two items they want, they'll simply bot your entire sim in one go. Even if you're there. Seriously, there are people who'd bot an entire already heavy party region during a party.
Some are just like this. Greedy, asocial, egotistic and without any manners. And probably in OpenSim because there are no Lindens who could ban them from the entire Hypergrid at once.

I know we've had it done to our grid before nearly ruined us but we're back. Now if they act like that I ban them, but even then they just come back under another username from a different grid and do what you say. It's a very sad day when people have to be like that, they feel they have a "right" to your creations just because it's open sim.

I think everyone experiences this, and it is quite rude. If your region is not a freebie store, and a private region. It does not mean they can copy your items, even if they are set that way. I think you have every right to ban these people from your region. Especially, if you are talking in chat to them, and they ignore and click away. It's called respect, and some need to learn this law.
