NOOBIE MOMENTS.. Despite all my years on OpenSIM, one still can have it. NO ONE IS SAFE lol
Don`t you all hate when selecting an object on FIRESTORM, instead of picking up TAKE COPY, you do the TAKE instead?....
Neat little trick... I will hide the placement coordinates somewhere on the object.... that way if I accidentally DELETE IT, I can pull it from trash and RE-PASTE to it's proper location... If I had a quarter for every-time I deleted something important, I would be RICH!
On my 8x8 region I shared the place into 4 zones. so for each zone, all the linksets I have on region (trees as they are scripted) I save in the same coord/rotation. so yeah make it easy when u delete by accident
someone answer to my post in that group: If you are in edit mode still, a ctrl+Z can help. but not sure if it also works, after you take an object. I had the problem with move an object and it was hidden suddenly into a wall. Guess my mouse had a hiccup or so :-) In this case it really worked to use Ctrl-Z to get it back to the place where it was before.
Glade I'm not the only one done that, even telling myself use a sand box for related tasks so it doesn't take the rest the day wasted because your in a different dimension when that occurs and all hell breaks loose at that point. One could only want restore to last position after a moment of FUBAR!
I add the x,y,z positions and any rotation information to the description field of structures I've rezzed. If it's a region-wide structure, as you have at Light and Sound, I add a prim at the center and make it the primary. That makes it easier to move the structure and position it at the center.
You would cry looking at my inventory, no logical order, tones of same name items, and mostly I have to remember how I named a thing to find it, so with time I hardly remember lol!
I am a bit better with other's stuff, making folders such as " plants" "building componments " etc... So you are in my clean and tidy part of my inner mess! 😅😂 But sometimes I place à coordinate and rotation in a description, it's only if I consider everything would be fucked up if not at good place.
Oh I do it too. but it just doesn`t prevent it to be deleted.. just make it easier to be replaced ehheeh Also making root prim at sim center "forces" one to see the object specially large ones (offsim mountains etc)
