And then there is this: a quite disturbing animation of Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Tell-Tale Heart.” It was narrated by James Mason in 1953, and, in 1994, was voted as one of the best cartoons of all time. Due to its adult subject matter, it was the first animated film to receive an “X” rating in the UK. Apparently, only those over the age of 16 were mature enough to view this story told through the eyes of a madman, who, like all of us, believed that he was sane.
