✅ Yes — a grid restart can cause creator/owner names to change
But only under certain conditions. Here’s the real technical behavior behind it:

1. If the original creator’s UUID is missing or not recognized
OpenSim identifies creators by UUID, not by the visible name.
If, during a restart:

the grid loses connection to the user database

the creator’s account wasn’t loaded yet

the asset server hiccups

the region boots before the grid services fully register users

…then OpenSim may fallback to the region owner’s UUID or the first recognized avatar as the “creator.”

This results in:

Textures suddenly showing you as the creator

Objects showing the wrong creator

Items reverting to “Unknown User” or “Resident”

This is a known OpenSim behavior.

Vor etwas mehr als 1 Jahr, sind Celoe und Calosa zum erstenmal in Carima erschienen. Sie wurden herzlich begrüsst und empfangen und nahmen dann auch gleich am Feuerkreis teil. Da Eddy immer sein Skizzenbuch dabei hat wenn er dort sitzt, hatte er die beiden gleich mit schnellen Strichen dort hinein gezeichnet.

OOC: Nach unserem wunderbaren Venedig Karneval Event vom Sonntag, war es am Montag Abend natürlich etwas ruhiger in Carima und Amazonien. Es waren zwar 14 Avas online, aber Aktionen fanden überwiegend im OOC Modus in den Chats statt. Falls ich das richtig beurteile gerade. ;)
