Ruritania will be running on nice new fast servers in the Open sim Grid by the end of May but until then if you have a local LFgrid avatar please make sure that you make a new OSG clone before the deadline and they are put to sleep forever. Use your suitcase folder to allow you to do this more easily but if you get really hung up with no perm items ask me and I'll try to help.

Now there's one thing that makes me curious.
Littlefield's own freebie sims are chock-full of content that's exclusive to Littlefield avatars, partially but not always because it was licensed only to Littlefield avatars by the original creators. I guess all that stuff will have to vanish for good. Removed from the stores and not taken over to OSgrid (or elsewhere).
Unless, of course, the makers of the truly original OpenSim content among these items have a change of heart and lift that restriction. I mean, it's unlikely that these things will spread across the freebie sims around the Hypergrid. Why would anyone want to have e.g. women's boots in their store that aren't rigged for Legacy and/or LaraX nowadays?

They are moving to a new grid. so I assume if all goes well, all the content moves too. And none of my boots are rigged for Legacy and LaraX...lol. But I'm a dinosaur:)

It wasn't technical trouble that I saw. It was license trouble.
AFAIK, some of these items were licensed by SL creators to OpenSim merchants in Littlefield with the restriction that these items be only offered in Littlefield and only to Littlefield residents. Other items were made by Littlefield residents exclusively for Littlefield residents.
It isn't just that Hypergridders can't export these items. They can't even pick them up.
However, if these sims with all these items were relocated to OSgrid as they are right now, items that are supposed to be exclusive to Littlefield Grid and its residents would suddenly be available in OSgrid. To at least OSgrid residents. Whom the licenses for these items don't cover.
Relocating these shops to OSgrid, fully stocked, would break licenses. There would be content in OSgrid that isn't allowed to be in OSgrid. Or anywhere else than Littlefield.
Two possible solutions:
One, the stores are cleared of any and all items with limited licenses prior to exporting the OARs. Which would essentially leave these sims barren.
Two, at least the licenses of the original OpenSim content are changed so that these items are allowed outside Littlefield.
That is, I know that at least the technical restrictions for Camryn Darkstone's boots are no longer valid. These boots can't be picked up in Littlefield by Hypergridders, but Camryn told Juno that anyone is allowed to have them.
I think Ada Wong is still active, too. We'll see what she'll do with her many currently restricted items.

Ada Wong is no longer in the VW. She had a RL situation with her father and had to leave the VW. We have license to all of her content as per her wishes. In fact, OSGrid has been using "her" content already as part of their default avatar apparently. All the other licenses have already been re-assigned to OSGrid so there is no license issue and everything will be available as soon as the migration is completed.

Not really Jamie, the original founder and mentor of LFG died just recently and didn't have chance to pass on certain passwords so we are moving before things begin to break. Look on it as insurance as well as a good chance to run on nice new hardware. Once the dust settles we should be better than we were.

If Walter quit entirely, we'd also need a new caretaker for Áine Caoimhe's many creations and a new and hopefully long-lived place to offer them. I'd hate to see that collection being ripped apart and partly lost entirely.

Aine's region has already been migrated and is open to the public on OSGrid, and will continue permanently. I have given 3 people full control of the region servers and OAR/IAR storage in case I pass away - W. Balazic.

I've given that a lot of thought and as huge of a loss as it would be it's my understanding that those objects aren't open source per-se (I'd welcome to be proven wrong) and that the sim was entrusted to him personally so I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for him to put up it up on archive.org. I'd have a hard time arguing that it would be appropriate to do so.
