The information in this post and the comments may be useful in the reoccurring debate about child avatars in OS.
1. A definition of sexual ageplay by a grid that, due to resident concerns and international law, has prohibited it since 2010.
• "Depictions of, or engagement in, sexualized conduct with avatars that resemble children."
This grid does not permit
• Participation by residents in lewd or sexual acts in which one or more of the avatars appears to represent minors (or the depiction of such acts in images, video, textures, or text).
• The placement of avatars appearing to represent minors in proximity to "sex beds" or other sexualized graphics, objects, or scripts.
• The placement of items that have sex play animations in areas depicting playgrounds or children's spaces.
2. Some information that can be useful in determining if an avatar appears to be that of a minor.
Whether an avatar
• has childlike facial features,
• is child-sized,
• has clothing or accessories generally associated with children,
• and whether, based on the circumstances, an avatar is speaking or acting like a child ('My Mommy says...')".
3. Some facts to consider when using height to determine if an avatar is adult size or not:
For adult males
• The country with the tallest average height, 6 ft, is the Netherlands.
• One of the countries with the shortest average height, 5 ft., is Denmark.
• Worldwide, the overall average height of an adult male is 5 ft. 7 in.
For adult females:
• The country with the tallest average height, 5 ft. 7 in. is the Netherlands.
• The country with the shortest average height, 4 ft., is Bangladesh.
• Worldwide, the overall average height of an adult female is 5 ft. 3 in.
