A question for those who use DreamGrid: What kind of access do we grant the creator when using the program? I’m interested in starting my own grid but without compromising my personal information. Is that possible?

Only the creator Ferd can tell about this. All other is just guessing around. At a "standard" Grid, using the official software, an admin can see way more than just the IP. Even a self hostet region owner (e.g. atached to OSG) can see all that. I just name the mac adress as example. There is way more

DreamGrid does not ask for personal information to use the program, and simply using it does not give the creator access to your personal data. One thing to keep in mind, however, is that the IP address of the server hosting your grid will necessarily be public and reachable from the Internet, since regions and users need to connect to it. This does not, by itself, give anyone access to personal data stored on your server or computer. I am also a DreamGrid user, not the developer of DreamGrid, so I am sharing this based on my own experience.
