I FOUND ANOTHER BUG that might not get fixed: When SOMEONE blocks you, YOU CAN STILL POST ON THEIR EVENTS! The blocker will not see what you said BUT EVERYONE ELSE WILL!

Just a reminder that grids that auto-ban because you have the audacity to come from a grid with a marketplace (cough Kitely cough cough) are also breaking this site's rules and should be prominent on the Wall of Contempt. I won't name names... well, maybe I SHOULD name names.

A lot of this insanity is being motivated by people who want to control the internet and want to strip everyone of personal anonymity. This only causes fragmentation. Now you need 10 or 12 avatars to see everything in Opensim. That is ridiculous! I only put up walls against entities who DESERVE IT.

The simplest solution is to declare the Grid a no-go for myself for the reasons mentioned. Nothing will change with the "Gridowner." I've already deleted my replies to Stark's last post. If she, or rather the Gridowner, doesn't value me or you, and if she does, it's only under his questionable conditions, then leave her alone. The Hypergrid is big enough; nobody is forced to go there.

Yes, but the if the wording says: "limits access to specific grids" this is likely referring to only allowing a whitelist of grids, not blacklisting a grid for valid reasons (e.g. a grid condoning the act of sending malicious actors to yours to cause detriment).
I would say though that there are some real concerns that some grids blocking using GeoIP is very concerning. I cannot access ZetaWorlds unless I:
a) Buy at least a month's worth of membership with ZetaWorlds
b) Buy a region from ZetaWorlds
c) Give them my ID (which is about the worst thing anybody could ever do)
I can use a VPN but this comes with it's own problems. The idea that they are essentially selling membership or land ownership as a way to access their grid most certainly breaks the rules here.

That's Vincent panicking about British Internet laws. And he's literally the only grid owner who is even only concerned about it. Not even Ilan Tochner of Kitely seems to be concerned about this.
Vincent even planned to throw out all British residents who don't send him their real-life IDs to prove they're 18+. Amongst others, this would have hit Niki Stark who therefore is working on a backup plan. But that would hade dealt a great blow to the Stark archipelago which would have lost a whole bunch of sims and to ZetaWorlds events which are at least partly being organised by Niki.

His panic shows his level if incompetence. Rather than skillfully providing an OPT-IN interface (or even that miserable "unable to verify identity box") he chose to have the USER DM themselves with USER BANNED message. Sloppy Unprofessional, rude, EVIL! Whenever I see a Zetaworld AD I feel compelled to warn others.

I do not dislike the Starks, One of them expressed interest in trying my new NPC software. I created my own DROP-IN REPLACEMENT to ActiveNPC. This one auto loads NPCs externally and gets rid of the PEG system for routing and exchanges it for simpler .scr construction and optimization.

But back to Vince, he could hardly have better villagers for event management than the Starks. They understand event organization, but not OpenSim technology—what more could he want? They won't ask any questions about it, but they'll deliver top-notch event work...

Look at all of the listings... they have a lot of regions on there... leaving Zeta could give him a black eye. I am guessing they are not self-hosing and could have their content held hostage. That would make things worse.

+1 for that. After my battle scars from Dynamic, OSgrid, Kitely and Zeta, I found that self-hosting is the ONLY WAY to go. AND I AM DOING IT ON LINUX which is HARDER.
