Admeja Grid is dying -long live Admeja Grid! (blogpost)

I'm a brokeass mf'er -and reaching the point where even a $13 VPS is painful.

Since Feb I've been hosting Admeja/Bounceme on ovh which has been affordable enough. But due to life circumstances even that is probably going to go bye-bye sooner or later.

A couple of days I just took my local Outworldz grid out of mothballs. So I'll always have Admeja/Outworldz to fall back on! I'll still be around.

What is interesting (depending on your interpretation of the word 'interesting') is that I have two different projects and two variations of one specific project.

I've been Chasing Admeja for like what -fourteen years now?? 😱 So yeah, the version of my 'Funadama' sim that's on Bounceme is significantly different than the one on Outworldz -kinda defeating the purpose, but I like some of the variations of both -so I'm going to work on bringing over things I like about the Bounceme Admeja and taking them to the Outworldz Admeja.

For the other projects -on both I have a copybot freebie shop I started in 2018 or so -primarily to use to restock things when I started over again on new grids and to ensure I have a copy of shit when foreign grids inevitably close. But it has long, long since become out of date. It also has lounges and things for XXX/NSFW/WTF activities so that's never gonna see the light of day 😈

So I'm gonna want to probably delete the bounceme version.

On Bounceme I have a 'mainland' project, basically making my own version of it. I also have a recreation of a mental hospital on it.

On Outworldz I have two var regions, one that is going to be an expanded version of Isis Ophelia's egyptian sim and the other is going to be a kind of sort of Amarna based sim with the amarana mansion I created some years ago in the center of it. I also have a var region that has the 2009 Condensationland Oar in the middle which I'm using as a personal challenge to fill well -the way that Condensation Land Club in OSG is filled. with personal bric-a-brac.

All of this is too much to run on one computer, so long term I'm going to back everything up and then once it is backed up I'll probably reorganize more formally by project. Then if I have to shut down Bounceme, I'll alternate what's on my desktop at any given time (to maximize ram useage).

Why am I posting this here? blog posters gonna blog post.
