Latest Firestorm alpha has the (in)famous dutch angle buttons. It's underneath the left circle of the camera controls.
Nope, can't give away the direct links to acquire the FS alpha viewer. Beq Janus might find out if anyone gives 'em away.
You need an active account in SL if you want it for yourself, and join the Firestorm Preview group. It has PBR baked into the alpha viewer so there's no way to turn that (or ALM) off. Just a caution to anyone with PBR issues. I don't have the latest beastly PC, but it works fine for me with a few tweaks.
Currently the only hypergrid of the four accounts I use that's giving me issues is Wolf Territories Grid. For some reason, after a few minutes of using my WTG account, the viewer crashes. This hasn't happened in my other accounts, including OSgrid. I have allowed the viewer to send mini dumps of data back to Firestorm support a few times. In a way, this should help with stability issues in the future. I know PBR isn't as widely available yet in Open Sim, but might as well be ready for it.
At least the 6.6.17 viewer will run indefinitely if you don't like dealing with PBR. But you don't need a new GPU to view PBR. If you have a 900 series or newer Nvidia GPU, PBR should work in low to medium settings. If your PC can play a AAA game title in medium settings, released within the last 10-15 years, you could tackle PBR for a while until a new PC upgrade is within reach. The Tomb Raider reboot from 2013 has PBR objects and surfaces. I can run that game in high settings at 1080p resolution, 50-60 fps on average. I know, not a good comparison compared to Open Sim/SL because of differences in optimization, but Lara Croft looks as good or better as any of the high def avis in both grid systems. I mean... look at the hair quality adjustment the game gives you! lol... can't do that in SL or Open Sim as far as I know.
All right then... time for a RL snooze. Bye for now! ^_^
