16 years I've been making amusement parks in SL & OS and I was excited to finally see someone else entering the amusement park arena in Opensim....but...the rules here are paranoid & ridiculous. Mesh avatars have a very negligible impact on sim performance, certainly not enough of an impact to ban them outright. Having your "park ranger" not even give someone rezzing in a chance to read the rules, let alone comply before not just being ejected, but outright disconnected, is very heavy handed & frankly, a total turn off. I was interested in seeing this & your other regions but I am not going to go change my entire avatar to suit some paranoid rule.
Take it from someone that's been doing this for 16 years & has owned a game development firm for nearly 30 - Calm Down. Seriously. Calm. Down. I get it. You don't want people to cheat & you don't want your stuff to lag BUT the User Experience is ALL. When you create a hostile atmosphere (park ranger) from the instant someone rezzes in, it kills the fun & puts the user on edge. It also drags them OUT of the experience & that is the opposite of what you want. Just my $0.02. Maybe one day I'll get bored enough to change into a 2004 avatar and try this again but well, I think I said that a few years ago when it launched too. It's 2024. Mesh is a thing. Deal with it & code accordingly. There are better ways of checking if someone is running unauthorized scripts....very, very, simple ways to do that. Look into a personal script scanner & go from there ;)
