In Detroit Michigan in 1959, Barry Gordy Jr. founded "Hitsville", soon after known as Motown. With artists on his record label such as Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, the Temptations, Martha and the Vandellas, and later Diana Ross and the Supremes, The Jackson 5 and many others, Motown became more than a record label. It became the "Motown Sound"! Tonite, join DJ Moonie and the Blues Tribe and party to many of your old favorite Motown tunes and learn facts about the artists and the Era! Moonie has an extensive collection and a great set planned! Motown's heyday was the 1960's and 1970's. We use anything as an excuse to dress up so come in those beehive hairdos, leather jackets and bobby socks, or come as you are for 2 hours of the most beloved music in American History! See you there!!
