In this virtual world in English, incomprehension and lack of kindness are the order of the day for us poor foreigners who make the effort to try to speak a language that is not ours... They often forget that we do not necessarily say in the right form what we think.... Yes!! when I use it I see many errors in english and german translations with "our" translators... and yet I don't speak very well so I'm always affraid to use them with languages I don't know at all even as italian or spanish who are close to french... What about japanese ?.... I have a close japanese friend who had a lot of misunderstanding issues... only because of some English speakers too quickly angry...

yes that happens but we have to use translators because otherwise we can't talk to many people and that wouldn't be nice either. Translators on websites also make mistakes but who knows, maybe AI will be able to fix that at some point :-)

In SL we realize it a little less because given the larger population we can much more easily move from one environment to another without dwelling too much on bad reactions. In addition here we are on a kind of forum that amplifies everything, with many people who are very sensitive and who often seem to only look for trouble or appear offended

SL is just a grid, of course everything is bigger here and there are a lot of people who have been banned in SL for causing trouble who are now here, so it's clear that there will be trouble here more often. We are friendly but if someone causes trouble then the friendliness is over ;)

Ok I am safe then. I'm usually around that height. Mind you I don't really care because some just make entirely too much uproar over child avatars. It is only a few supposed adults who have a problem with childlike avatars and they look to be in dire need of some inner child therapy!

we were actually friendly and the whole thing was a reaction. But you seem to have misunderstood something, it wasn't about the fact that there shouldn't be fat or short avatars, that's not what it meant and the BMI was in the data. For me it was about the size.

Since you seem to be addressing people with some civil and less threats now --
When I addressed the fact this was only directed to female avies and was very restricting even adding in BMI - ie, no fat or short people apparently - the response was nothing civil and was immediately threatening. I hardly ever engage here about anything but this struck me as a bit repressive. So if my concerns had been met with this civility you are using with others now, I'd have returned that.

I actually completely support the need for avies to have some reasonably normal size, as opposed to 10 feet tall etc.

Good morning everyone :-) Mistressdalgato, I will be happy to answer your question. On our grid, children's avatars are strictly forbidden, which you can usually see at every landing point. Since we allow nudity and sex on every sim, it is not possible for us to allow children's avatars. Unfortunately, it happens every now and then that someone, for example, mistakes my fiancée for 10 with her petite avi. although it's not true at all and she's 172 meters tall with full body tattoos etc. so there are people who just claim she has a child avatar and when that happens it starts to really piss me off It doesn't happen often, it's been twice so far but that's too much because, as I said, it's simply not true

I understand all of the post but is unclear if child avatars are banned in your grid or not, im all for the bann to be honest it just isnt clear if it pertains to your grid. Not everyone who is short or petiet is a child avi, that i agree with.

Good for you Germangrid! My avatar is 5.76 female (175.26) so actually taller than my RL body. In RL, my avi could be dunking a basketball in the WNBA. Yet I am by far one of the smaller avis that I come across in OS. Some have even had to the gall to tell me I was a "child" and needed to make myself taller or leave (looking at you Lbsa plaza!) The fact is that the giants avis damage the OS experience by making everything much bigger than it needs to be to fit their mile high view.
I totally support your effort on support of realistic body hight at German grid, but please be careful by saying child avitars are not strictly forbidden. You dont want Dan or Satyre simply blocking your entire grid for not other reason that you have allowed young/child size avitars. Avedon Park is a moderate region, so I allow anyone there, even giant goofy-looking male avatars with big muscles and tiny heads. Avedon South is adult rated and I enforce that accordingly.

personally i would love if someone would take all the male bodies and make them normal size. Yes we would look smaller, but we would also run faster, and load faster. In fact. That'd be difficult.
Most people use the shapes that come with their ripped SL heads. And ripped SL heads with shapes from times when you had to be a giant in SL are all over the Hypergrid. About half of them seem to use these shapes as they are as the willingness to edit something, anything, in OpenSim has decreased over the last few years. People want it the easy way. They want to use stuff as it is out of the box. Well, and the other half takes one of these shapes and yanks the height slider to 100 because that's what they've always done in SL.
Another issue is that people are used to height measures in SL being inaccurate anyway and not believing in these figures. Thing is, SL measures your height from your feet to your eyes. That's a bug that LL won't fix because it'd break too much stuff. OpenSim, on the other hand, has always measured your height from your feet to the top of your head. But hardly anyone knows about this, and those who do adjust their shapes do so until it looks good, even though they end up giants.
Lastly, you'd have to not only make new, realistic shapes for the lazy ones and add them to the heads, but you'd have to replace these heads all over the Hypergrid, all the way to freebie sims that are hardly maintained anymore.

Either the owner does zilch, or they don't really understand what you want, but you gave them some nice items, so they hang up your fixed items next to the same unfixed ones because they barely know what they've got on their walls.

Could men not simply set the male avatars to a reasonable height, and maybe pull the muscles back bit? You listed many fits and it is also great way to safe space. Realistic avitars do not eat up much space, there view is lower, so you can build at more realistic levels.

Something found that has worked for me is to set my avi height to real-life height. Then Turn the body fat and body size sliders to 0. From there, build your torso and leg using just the torso and leg muscle sliders. THE add the body fat. I guess it seems to work best to" build out instead of condense in". At lest that seems to be the flow that works for me. YMMV.
