Nice little feel good post by LL to officially sweep this whole ugly mess under the rug once and for all. Everyone claiming the alleged claims made would somehow lead to criminal investigations or (gasp!) the downfall of LL were all greatly mistaken and it simply turned out to be, as I predicted here months ago, just a basic HR issue.

"..,all Lindens and contractors have stayed in compliance with our own community guidelines" Yes, but only because the ones that WERE NOT in compliance are no longer employed there and are thus not "Lindens". Nice spin there.

The "modesty layer" is an interesting approach. Seems like a good idea. It might work, or it might also lead to more issues. I am glad at least that LL realizes that merely having a childlike avatar does NOT automatically mean something exploitive or sexual is occurring. That kind of thinking is narrowminded and wrong-headed. I also hope the LL is making some legitimate changes in their work environment because claims of a hostile work environment have been made more than a few times now.

The rest of the post seems like stuff I have read from them 100 times before. I expect a few "community forums" and some holding hands and singing songs about how important the "community" is and then this little issue will be just a memory and LL will go back to focusing on what it really cares about...the big sell-off of Tilla to Thunes

Just treat all child avatars no matter what with the same ban and just be done with it, I don't care if the avatars pilot is 90 you look like a child avatar or a tween you will be nuked, I feel SL is way toooo friendly with the whole thing. Sl also knows it makes money off of pedo's so they won't squarely come out and say it, and for that I don't trust SL.

So much i could say in regards to the article but I've made my point several times so no use. but if they would just ban child avatars that would solve a lot of the problems. but they have an even bigger problem to the fact they allow in certain areas underage people.

I wish they would stop calling it sexual Ageplay, there all pedophiles and that's what it should be called. They go and say If you are in doubt as to whether an activity may be interpreted as Ageplay, we request you err on the side of caution and desist. There is nothing wrong with Ageplay when its done right! in real life the Ageplay community are adults that wear childlike clothing and act a yougner age. In sl or opensim actual rl child looking avatars go around having people think what there doing is Ageplay and that is wrong and has nothing to do with Ageplay whatsoever.

Im so tired of child advatars ruining it for others who just want to be themselves.

There's nothing particularly unexpected there to be honest. Discussion on the changes, in the SL forums, have already highlighted several potential problems with the changes. Frankly the whole thing says "PR exercise" to me, rather than any attempt to address the issues properly without making a pigs breakfast of it.

I'm pretty much indifferent because my parcel in SL is Adult, and more significantly, it's blocked to anyone who's not in the appropriate group.
