Can anything AI be termed art? Simply by the way AI imagery works it is derivative, leeching from the styles of artists and creators without permission or giving credit, let alone financial compensation. I see it differently. It's much more than just typing a few lines into a prompt and that's it. Before the result is satisfactory, the prompt sometimes has to be edited and adjusted up to ten times. Not to mention the post-processing with Photoshop, etc.
In my opinion, the writer who claims something like that in your link is completely incompetent to just throw something like that out there...
