Thank you. Excellent article. The creative genius of Cherry Manga isn't for everyone, but it is for me. My favorite genre is Surrealism and my earliest inspiration was Rene Magritte. From the first painting I saw, I have been obsessed with Surrealism and then to discover an artist like Cherry in Open Sim is like a dream for me. People want to understand her art but to do so, you must look past your preconceptions of pretty pictures and be willing to dive deeper than thought. Most don't know how to get there, but for the ones that do, it is a gift to experience her creations. She has such a brilliant mind and the ability to harness the tools that she needs to create her vision and yet she is humble, always seeking more challenges and inspiration. She is a brilliant artist, but she is also a very sweet and kind person.

Great info Jupiter. Thanks for the research. I am so thankful to Áine Caoimhe for the Club Master and all the other wonderful things she gifted the community. Thank you to Littlefield Grid for keeping her region up. It may show offline, but hop anyway, you will get there. She was loved, and she is missed, may she rest in peace.

It is our pleasure. We loved Aine, and as I've mentioned in the past, she was our friend in RL. We were supposed to meet with her in person at our annual grid admin's meeting in Philadelphia the month after she fell ill and unfortunately she was never able to come. She went downhill very quickly after that. I don't want to get into specifics here, but it was a very sad situation and it makes all of the owners of Littlefield upset discussing the final e-mail from her daughter outlining her decline. Although her daughter really had no idea what her mother was up to regarding the virtual world, Aine's contribution to Opensimulator in my opinion is some of the most important content we have, particularly that danceball. It will always be available - now in it's 2.1 state at her region. And yes, her beacon sometimes shows offline, but it is up 24x7 365, has been for 12 years, and will continue to be up as long as Littlefield is in existence. It's a shame everything in Opensim has to be some kind of controversy. Our apologies if this caused some kind of "mystery" for everyone. We could have resolved that if anyone had bothered to ask us.

Agreed. I've been scratching my head over this one trying to understand just what the controversy is, since this is a full perm item and nearly ubiquitous in Opensim. As a creator, all my items are copy and modify so users can change them any way they like. As long as no one is pretending to be me and trying to sell my stuff I'm good.

It's all part of the Opensimulator "community" (and I use that word lightly) and everything being some kind of scandal or controversy. This is why Littlefield doesn't generally get involved in any of these comments, but I felt that I needed to clear the air on this one since it's being made into some kind of conspiracy, and that not only isn't the intent, but not what Aine would have wanted. Again - the simple answer was to simply ASK us what the situation was.....

TY Marianna, though it wasn't my first project, but one of several early builds in Open Sim as I was learning to build. This one was a lot of fun to build even though I did it badly, so it needed a remodel. :D

Thank you but I didn't make that one. It is just a part of the build, full perm. It is old and gas prices are still OMG! :)

I should have made more clear that EACH parcel has two possible timelines so there are a total of 20 possibilities and only 10 will be followed to completion. Each parcel will be different because, in the Tenth Dimension, anything and everything is possible all at once.

I just remembered to come back and comment that Rhowin helped me out with the script and my friend is happy. Thank you for helping me to help him. It is a little different than what they were trying to do, but will probably be even better than they expected in function. Hope everyone is having an awesome day, night, wherever you are in the world!! Thanks again Rhowin. You Rock!

Some of my old creations show my name and the grid I was on when I made them, even though those grids no longer exist. I used to go by MelodyStar Madison and that will show most of the time on the old stuff. Occasionally, my items show the creator as "loading," I have actively built on only two grids in recent years with the name I currently use. Sometimes my prior grid name appears, and sometimes it doesn't.

About six days ago, I left the grid I had been on for almost two years and started my grid. I had the IAR transferred to an alt to act as a closet to keep my main avatar’s inventory cleaner.

Interestingly, some items in the inventory of MelodyStar, the closet, now show her name as the creator even though she is a brand new avatar and her last name, Ravenhurst has never been associated with the first name until now. Other items show Star Ravenhurst as both the creator AND owner, even though this current avatar didn’t make any of it and it hasn’t been in her inventory. This inconsistency has been helpful for setting up my store on the new grid in some ways by putting my current avatar showing as the creator even though the avatar didn't make it. GM is imperative in this case when you want to transfer your stuff (that you made) to a new avatar and grid. What is interesting is the stuff I have from others in the inventory is showing the original creator so thankfully whatever glitch is happening didn't put my name on their stuff too, only mine. Unfortunately, some of the items on my lands changed the creator to me when the OARS were loaded, but most of it retained the original creator’s name, thankfully. So if anyone sees something like that on my grid, please don't get your panties in a bunch, I didn't steal it or make that happen on purpose. That sucks when it is art which has happened as well. I wish someone would fix this.

If people want original creations, I will have my shop open soon. A friend is also opening a shop of original creations in his region on my grid. Not everything is stolen in OS.

I don't know how helpful this is, but the best way to be unique in OS is to build things yourself. Look on the Internet for styles you like on sites that have blueprints. Upload a copy of the blueprints and put them on a prim so you can easily look at them while you build. You can also put the image on your floor to help you build the walls according to the plan. I saw a nice large modern house on AMV's Houses region the other day. Best of luck in finding what you want.

I hope I remember to come as I have a spot already and my perspective and need for the space has changed and I have no idea what to do. This meeting may help me figure it out or inspire me. I am so excited for this fair! Such a great opportunity for us to continue building our community.
