I keep thinking I should get a new avatar to join the crowd, be cute like everyone else, and wear all the awesome options they have. I can't make myself do it though. I end up dumping stuff from my inventory I pick up without even trying it on and stick with the same old me. :) At least I travel pretty light grid hopping! :)

As cute as little child avatars can be, they bring too much speculation and trouble. They are not allowed in my regions. I prefer to be on grids that don't allow them simply because...they are too much trouble. Thanks to bad people. Bad people always ruin everything. They don't care about the laws. So we have to care. Who wants to be held liable because some people are on their grid doing bad things they are unaware of? It happens I am sure. Bad people always find a way to do the bad things they seem compelled to do. If they get caught by the law, well as a grid owner, they will be looking at you too.
So because of these idiots, it has ruined it for folks who would like to roleplay having a child or whatever reason one chooses to be a child in innocence.
I wonder what the possibilities are for creating AI children for virtual with safeguards put in place so that bad people can't mess that up too? Someone much smarter than I will have to do it. :)

I think about those things too. Nobody knows the truth of anything. It is all mystery and speculation. The beliefs that is. People want to believe in something. Some need it. I say, believe in whatever brings you the most comfort when you are at your most vulnerable. That is your truth.

This stuff has been going on for years. Back in the day when I was in SL and had never heard of OS, I had a large, successful rental property with 80 apartments, 12 sky boxes, cottages, and a castle in the sky which stayed rented. I think people who have rentals probably see a lot more than the average person. I did. Some of my tenants made me feel uncomfortable so I would keep an eye on them and at the same time, try to respect their privacy. Some of the people that engage in these disgusting behaviors are stupid besides being perves and would use local for their emotes and chat and THAT is what revealed what was happening on my property. They would get the boot and a report and ban and no refund :). Second Life has known about this crap for years. Sadly, it has taken someone going public to finally get their attention. I agree, Open Sim will likely experience some blowback. But then again, don't think for a moment it isn't happening here. It is really sad because it would be really cute to create a little avatar to "play" one's child, which is innocent and a lot of people like to do it, but because of idiots, it is probably best to just avoid all child avatars and forgo family roleplay because the pervs have ruined it. I hope something is finally done about it and real-life consequences happen for those involved because if they are doing it in virtual... :( :( :(
