AMV4B - Alternate Metaverse Grid Celebrates 4 Years!

Yet another year has passed in our happy home at Alternate Metaverse Grid and we continue to grow and flourish! Alternate Metaverse Stores & Products were founded and created by Cataplexia Numbers since 2006. Clifford Hanger began the grid in 2019 naming it VWorld originally. When they married, the grid was renamed to Alternate Metaverse, A name that stood for quality creations as it has for 17 years. The Grid became one of those. This Year- December 5th 2023 we Celebrate 4 years of our beautiful grid and the over 3 Thousand incredible residents who have called this place their home, knowing we are built around them, beneath them and hand in hand with them!

All are invited to the Celebration on the Region AMV Birthday, A Co-Creation of Ted Junior and Chris McCracken, two excellent builders and landscapers! There are a few touches by the talented Lilie Finesmith and by Cataplexia Numbers as well. We will start off with a Short Grid Address to open and the Re-Inauguration of our Grid's Mayor, The lovely Taffy Star. After the Inauguration we will celebrate at the main stage with a Formal Masquerade Ball.

I have Good News and Bad News first the Bad News which really isn't so bad. You see, after remodeling and rezzing the new store which just had holiday jewelry, I had several contact me asking me to please bring back the original Monentes Store with all the jewelry regardless of the store being completely full and disorganized. thank you every one who came out to my first event on my own grid.. Im so glad things are working better for you here.. I made the decision to make my own so I have more control over it and not to over load the server, cause whats important to me is you.

Anyone on Mastodon already? Or elsewhere in the Fediverse? I know some of you are, I've already got almost two dozen contacts from OpenSim. Mal Burns is already there, the maker of Inworld Review, as are Austin Tate a.k.a. Ai Austin, the maintainer of Ruth2 and Roth2 with a separate account for his avatar, and vrsimility who rebuilds Liverpool's Old Dock in OpenSim (in case you've seen it at OSCC21), just to name a few.

If you consider the switch from the Birdsite to the Fediverse, or if you generally want to dive into free and decentral social networking, I've got good news for you:

In spite of its name, I don't think it's that affiliated with OSW, maybe not yet. It comes from Quintonia, you know, who brought you the Satyr Farm enhancements.

So this may be a better place for you to go than the big and overloaded instances if you're an OpenSim user.

Well, after a 10 year vacation from SL, I thought I'd go visit. But I've heard that using Firestorm for SL and Firestorm for OS will mess up my preferences. Is that true? And if so, how do I avoid it?

This little slice of Japan from KDJ is well built and a pleasure to explore. With its Japanese themed buildings, amazing street scenes and walk ways the visitor never tires of all the intricate detail that has gone into this build.

This region is KDJ's personal region but there are plans for a club and a forest area too. Incidentally, if you need a DJ then contact Dariaa Zaritskaya who can prepare a set especially for your events.
