Hi Nico, See Cliffs comment above...also i never heard of a portable mixxx, is that for Wifi? Djing in Wifi will never work, you CAN get it to connect but the stream would drop constantly, never mind the packet loss to those coming to hear you!

Portable apps are programs that don't need to be installed to run. Instead, you can simply copy them to a folder (or USB stick) and run them from there. There are hundreds of portable apps. I run Mixxx from an external drive connected to my computer via USB 3.0. The computer is connected to the internet via ethernet/cable. I've been able to DJ fine with this set-up. However, I have about 750GB of music files and the BPM and key analysis files generated by MIXXX take up too much room on my computer's small SSD. That's the problem I'm hoping to solve.

Jupiter is Correct...TY Jupiter, The link to lame is https://lame.sourceforge.io/ though either link will work. The most recent version and the one to download is 3.100 64 bit. As for Mixxx, assuming you have windows, the one recommended is now 2.3.3 for Windows 7 or greater...64 Bit to match LAME. As for you Nico, I do not have a solution except a bigger SSD if yours is that small, but let me see what Cliff thinks as he is the techy one and I WILL get back to you!
