Silver Basin opens wide beneath the mountains, where the desert floor gives way to pines, rock, and rising trails. It’s one of those places in Sanctuary Canyon where you can stop for a minute and see how much country there is left to explore. Some areas are still being constructed, but there's much to explore freely and much, much more to come!!

It’s not Sunday, but apparently DJ Jim doesn’t need an excuse. 🤠🎶
It’s cold and yucky outside, we’re hanging out at the Smash, and Jim decided to fire up the music. So consider this an unscheduled, informal set happening right now! Come dance, hang out, try your luck on Buck Eye the mechanical bull, or just pull up a chair and enjoy the music. Country is home base, but Jim has a pretty broad playlist, so you never quite know what might turn up. Everyone is welcome. Come as you are and stay as long as you like!

Take the high trail to the Fire Lookout. Follow the trail up past the signs for Stone Bowl Pond and Silver Veil Falls to climb into the pines for one of the best views in Sanctuary Canyon. Even with areas under construction on the sim, the trails are open for hiking or horseback riding, so take your time and see where the mountain leads!

Beneath Sanctuary Canyon, clear aquamarine pools collect among the calcified stone. But the pools may not be the only thing hidden underground. There are older secrets in these mountains, and those willing to explore may find that the cave leads somewhere unexpected... perhaps even toward the Gypsum Sands.
The entrance isn’t meant to be obvious. That’s part of the fun.
