Stark Dystopia ^Adult

"This is an AWESOME sim that I honestly don't know how I've MISSED before now! Well, actually, I do know: a less-than-diligent reading of the region description left me with a really incomplete impression. In fact, I think I may have even visited it shortly after its opening. Regardless, I had the impression that it was 'just another' roleplay sim—a place where you bring your group, roleplay, and that's it. And, oh yeah, there’s a bunch of zombie types wandering around who'll EAT you if you're not careful. Zombies, I must admit, do nothing for me; I burned out on 'The Walking Dead' YEARS ago!

Well, to a degree, all that I thought I knew was true, but it's OH so much MORE than just that! One thing the region description doesn't say (and it absolutely should) is that in addition to simple chat and emote roleplaying, there’s a set of tools available at the entrance—HUD, health meter, weapon, etc.—that transforms this sim into a full-fledged CARP sim, equal to the classic systems many of us know and love from Second Life!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with CARP (Capture And RolePlay), some players assume the role of 'hunters' and the rest become the 'hunted' or prey. Using the interaction of a hunter's weapon (a stun gun here) and a prey's health meter, the hunters attempt to track down, disable, and capture a prey. After that, well, that's where the roleplay comes in and can go wherever the players wish! As I mentioned, NPC zombies do exist here but they are usually unobtrusive, and interested more in eating each other than in molesting you!

The scenery matches up well with Stark's usual high standards. It's a very large, BELIEVABLE world, with varying themes and settings and many 'nooks and crannies' to hide in. I just finished my first actual experience here, as one of a party of three players. I and one other were newcomers to Dark Dystopia and the hunt system there, but it only took minutes to get sorted out and begin to play. I have to say that we ALL had a BLAST with it and I'm looking forward to my next visit!! It brought back SO many fond memories of years ago playing in SL!! I HIGHLY recommend it and HOPE to see YOU there TOO!!"
