The project +Woman ZeroViolence was born because of the deep conviction of the founding group that the time has come to give life to an Opensim's own program, dedicated to the celebration of all national and international days for the elimination of all types of violence against women.
The project will be active throughout the year and, whenever the opportunity arises, it will make its voice heard, organizing meetings, flashmobs, conferences, exhibitions, plays, readings and performances.
Violence against women is violence perpetrated against women based on gender, and is considered a violation of human rights.
The Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women, adopted without a vote by the United Nations General Assembly in Resolution 48/104 of December 20, 1993, in Article 1, describes violence against women as:
"Any act of gender-based violence that results in or is likely to result in physical, sexual or psychological harm or suffering to women, including threats of such acts, coercion or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether in public or private life."
