Birdland—a birdless land whose inhabitants pretend to be birds—begins as a fairy tale and ends as an allegory, a meditation on otherness where reality is viewed as a shared construct (a topic close to our Opensim hearts). Birdland is written and illustrated by artist Luciwa Peregrine. The Nuna Gallery is exhibiting artworks from the book in our Level 4 Penthouse Gallery with a launch and a talk from the author. All welcome.
Synapse is a new sonic installation at NUNA—a collaboration between artists Lorin Tone and Alia Soulstar—based on the idea of a sonic field where viewers curate their own musical experience by interacting with the work. The installation draws attention to granular brain architecture. A synapse is a site of transmission of electrical nerve impulses between neurons. Come to the opening on Sunday, all welcome.
