The Discovery Grid

One of the most influential rock bands of the 20th century was formed in 1964. Actually, it developed from an earlier band known as The Detours. In 1964, the band claimed themselves as part of the pop art and mod movements.
On August 17, 1969, a little known band, known as The Who, played Live At Woodstock. At 5am on Sunday, just before the Jefferson Airplane took the Woodstock stage, the rock outfit 'The Who' played their rock opera titled “Tommy”, the story of a deaf, dumb, and blind boy who is cured of his ailments and gains stardom, becoming a legendary performer.
Come join us on the Discovery Grid as SEISMIC EVENTS pays tribute to Tommy by the Who. So come join us for friendship, fun and entertainment. Hope to see you there.

Come celebrate DiscoveryGrid's 4th anniversary on the 4th of July from 6PMto 8PM. This is the encore event. There will be an air show featuring the Blue Angels, a pyromusical fireworks taking place over the George Rogers Clark Memorial Bridge spanning the Ohio River at virtual Louisville Kentucky, this will be another massive urban build by Neytiri Omatikaya of PyroVR Fireworks. After the airshow and pyromusical events we will have a dance party.

Come to the summer pop up market in Virtual Seattle!!! This very popular market is scheduled to take place from June 19 through July 5, 2020. See what our Discovery Grid merchants have to offer all in one cozy flea market setting at virtual Seattle. Hypergrid visitors are welcome. The region is set to transact in Gloebits. If you want to purchase items in the local Discovery Coins (DC$) all the merchants will have landmark givers and teleporters to their respective DC$ stores.

We are SO excited!! We have had almost 200 visitors to our Virtual Seattle Winter Market. This event is a Gloebit pop-up market located at the base of the Seattle Space Needle and is open to everyone in Open Sim. Enjoy shopping at booths full of exclusive Christmas/Winter items created by our fabulous merchants. **But, hurry!** The market will end in just a few days. After the fireworks, starting at 12:30PM , we get down to some serious dancing and music spun by DJ Astoria at the Discovery Grid after-party. This takes place in the Faerie Circle near the Space Needle. Get ready to be faerie led as the faeriedust sends you floating in air. Bring your wings too if you have them. Do visit the Space Needle lobby on the 1st floor where 23+ merchants have set out birthday gifts for all of you. Pick up your DG 3rd anniversary mesh tops and t-shirts too.

At 11:30AM Pacific time take a stroll from the Mural Amphitheater to the Faerie Circle near the Space Needle to listen to the pre-show music by DJ Astoria. She will warm you up with her celebratory tunes. The Space Needle is open to the public. Take the elevators up to the restaurant, have a quick bite to eat before the fireworks begin.
