Pounamu Castle, Wakatipu, has sound everywhere including many New Zealand bird calls. Enjoy a sound experience with your phones and sound turned on.
Pounamu is a Māori word that means greenstone or jade. Jade is highly prized by Māori people. It is an extremely hard silicate mineral that's used to make jewelery. All throughout Pounamu Castle, you will find chunks of pounamu, some used as a building material, some polished as ornaments.
