Take the trolley to the market or touch the teleport sign. The market transacts in DC$ AND HG visitors can purchase them on site.

Christmas Ship Parade and display!
Come see the Christmas decorated Ships of the DiscoveryGrid Battle Group - led by Admiral Modee Parlez.
There will be a docking of the boats by the battle group, arriving approximately 3:30 Discovery Grid Time. The dock will be at the edge of the Discovery Christmas Market. Reach it by going to the skating rink and taking the walkway to the water. Residents are welcome to come view the ships and tour them.
The Christmas Ships will remain at the dock for viewing until the end of the Christmas Market. They will be judged by a team of Discovery residents.

It is brought to you by Neytiri, owner/operator of PyroVR. These are technically accurate fireworks, the likes never seen before. Once again Neytiri has been working on new custom effects and techniques that will be debuted for this event. Bigger shells, bigger BOOMs!

SPECIAL: After the fireworks we invite people to fly the F/A-18 jetcraft. Read the placard, mind the landing gear and keep looking up!

These aircraft will astound you as their pilots perform high precision breathtaking acrobatic flight maneuvers and thunderous flyovers to continue the birthday celebrations.

If you missed the DJ party, please arrive BEFORE 7PM because the doors may close if more than 40 people are in the region. Hypergrid hops perturb the balance.

The DiscoveryGrid jetliner is fueled and ready to take up to 9 passengers on a tour of the southern portion of the grid, the 4x4s. During the flight I will hold office hour where passengers ask questions, give suggestions while taking in the sights below us.

No flight/vehicle experience necessary because these hot air balloons fly themselves. Hop in one, get on a dance pad in the basket (four per balloon), then dance to the tunes of DJ Astoria while the balloons cruise around slowly.

There will be hot air balloons ready to go at the event site. Or BYOB (bring your own balloon). Afraid of virtual heights? No worries, we'll have dance pads on the ground too!

There is also a huge ice skating rink, which will be open for the duration of the market from Dec 12 – Jan 2. This event, located at the base of the Seattle Space Needle in virtual Seattle, is set to Gloebit currency and is open to everyone in Open Sim. Every Thursday afternoon, we have a meeting and provide information on how to fly the aircraft scripted by Balpien Hammerer, the owner of the Discovery Grid. Instructors can demonstrate how to control the aircraft and rezzers provide you, to fly the aircraft on your own, or with one of our instructors. The class is just one hour, come visit the grid and experience flying on the millions of open skies on our 8x8 and 4x4 regions

Our weekly free Discovery flight school is open again Thursday, traning for the F/A-18 Hornet jets, the commercial Learjet 35, the Falcon trijet, and for Sci-Fi Stargate fans the Goa'uld deathglider. There will be a short ground school training on the controls, then hands on instructor/student dual flight followed after school by you-fly-em tours of the nearby regions in the grid.
