Put the script in a prim, then take the prim into inventory and assign it a hud position. Shrink it down tiny. Put a notecard inside the prim called "sims". On each line of the sims notecard write the name of one sim per line. Save the notecard. Now when you click the hud, it will go through the list of simulators and get the status. This is great because simulators have about 5 or 6 status codes. They are not just up or down. The reason this helps is because you can quickly check to see that all your sims don't have any hidden problems going on. For example, a high-level greifer visits your land and runs a special device that will crash your sim an hour after they leave. This puts your sim into an unknown status until it crashes, but if you catch it first, you can just restart it.
