Virtual Abyssinia is my living museum on the Science Circle Grid, where I'm recreating ancient and traditional sites in Ethiopia and Eritrea, places I visited, some of which I helped excavate years ago, and which now I'm bringing to a new life online as an educational resource. I continue to develop and expand this project further, incorporating the latest archaeological discoveries. I originally created a similar project on Second Life, but technical & financial issues prevented its continuation. Many of the sites & artifacts that have been or will be represented are located in Tigray, the north Ethiopian province that now is undergoing a disastrous civil war. This project is dedicated to the people of Tigray & Eritrea, with urgent hopes for return to peace & stability.
